THE 2011 CHUD.com Academy Awards PREDICTION Thread

Thread Starter

Main OSCARS Discussion Thread

Alright folks, post up your predictions list. Don't format it like an asshole and get more correct than anyone else and you'll win some great shit from us here at CHUD! Remember, this is who you think WILL WIN THE AWARD, NOT who you WANT to win. The various award threads are for your hopes and dreams.

Anyway, what kind of stuff will you win? Dunno yet- probably some t-shirts/DVDs/swag we've got around here, along with whatever odd shit, drawing, or other artifacts we can cram in the package. It'll be special, for sure.

Feel free to discuss everyone's picks, but be aware I'm going to lock the ever-living shit out of this thread as soon as the ceremony starts Sunday!

My list:

Like most other people, some of these picks are not my personal faves, but the ones I think will win.  The acting categories are all but a given, but hopefully we'll see a few upsets.  Here's a few things that really gripe my ass about the Oscars:  why some say younger actors/actresses like Hailee Steinfeld, Natalie Portman shouldn't win because they will have lots more chances due to their younger age, as opposed to older stars like Annette Bening;  Why Jeff Bridges can't win because he won last year, and that if things had gone "correctly" last year then Colin Firth would have won for A Single Man, leaving this year for Bridges to follow De Niro as an Oscar winner to win for playing the same character as a previous winner; and why, by the time the actual telecast rolls around, it all seems anticlimatic (where's a streaker when you need one?)
