OF COURSE THEY’RE REMAKING THE BODYGUARD!

Man, I was really relieved to see Nick confess he likes this flick. I've always liked it (and I think the kitchen fight scene does a hell of a lot to give the film some much-needed heft), but have also always been leery of admitting it.

Having said that, I'm also with Nick: it ain't a classic or some height of genre filmmaking. A remake is fine - but I hope they do it well.

I have the most genius idea for casting it.

James Franco/Lady Gaga.

More likley however is they will try and reinvent the film by reversing the rolls. I expect to see Bieber and some young starlett anounced soon.

I never saw the original due to my eternal Whitney Houston hatred, but Franco/Gaga might be weird enough for me to see.  You know they'll go with Beyonce, though.  That almost seems a given. 

While we're on the subject, I'm surprised no one has remade MY BODYGUARD. 

She's actually tolerable to passing good in it. It helps that she's playing a version of herself, and isn't called to do any strenuous acting. Costner's solidly in his wheelhouse in this flick, too, which helps quite a bit. The flick's definitely a product of its times and, as Nick said, it's not all that great. But it is pretty enjoyable.
