WRATH OF THE TITANS WILL SHOOT 2D, RELEASE 3D. SO, YOU GUESSED IT…

Another post-conversion happens.

The conversion for the first Potter was never finished, and what's this about Inception?  After how bad the first film looked I'm surprised WB is willing to spend the money AGAIN.  I guess they pulled a lot of money from it.

For a studio that seems to have made a lot of ballsy, smart decisions in the last 5-10 years, this seems egregiously stupid, given how badly the post-conversion results were for CLASH.

Well i'm still going to watch it in 2d rather than 3d. That is, assuming it's better than the first one,

Converted release for the second is happening, and Inception is likely a reference to a 3D Blu-ray.

Despite the awesome trailer and my interest in the ancient world I didn't see CLASH due to the bad word of mouth.

I've been burned by positive spin too many times to get excited.

Borrow it from the library, if you can, but I in no way recommend paying any amount of money to see it. It's a mess.

God, I wish it wasn't.  I want to see that in IMAX, but I don't wan't to see a shitty conversion.

Back to this film, conversion or no, Wrath will most likely suck nuts, so I'll pass.

Honestly, I think they're hedging their bets on the fate of 3-D when this comes out.

So if Potter and other movies don't get a huge bump from 3D they won't bother converting?

Devin's article about the director's cut of CLASH makes me slightly curious to see it.

Agreed. I assumed they'd ditched it for both. Matt Goldberg from Collider told me otherwise before an I Am Number Four screening and I got a little unnecessarily loud and angry about it for a minute. Got a few weird stares.

You’ve got Chris Nolan doing Inception, converting the DVD,

Boo.  Hiss.  Especially considering Nolan already stood up to Warners in his polite British way about making Inception 3D.  With his handheld shots and editing rhythm, it just won't bloody work.  I can't picture Nolan "doing" this, especially when he's up to his eyeballs in Batman work right now.  He probably has just enough time to sign a "Whatever, I approve, Do what you want, Leave me out of it" agreement.

I enjoyed CLASH much more on blu than in theaters (when I had expectations, based on a badass trailer). It's not good by any means, but it is passable Sat afternoon matinee fare. What it lacks in sense, it makes up for in energy. If they can only go back and fix Medusa's friggin face.

I'll watch a part 2, but warily.

Post-conversion is a monster chasing its own tail at this point. Too many concerns are invested in making 3D films that way, making sure lots of people get paid for lots of work. There's some spectacular inefficiency going on, and as soon as producers educate themselves about the superiority of shooting native 3D it'll all come crashing down.

It wasn't unnecessary, sir!
