Will the new G.I. Joe film go 3-D?

Keep anyone but Tatum.  SO boring.  Unless Chu got something special out of him in Step Up 2 The Streets... this movie needs a new white lead.  Of course, I say white lead because they would never allow this movie to be led by anyone else (despite the fact that the property is the draw).

Channing actually wasn't bad in THE EAGLE.  Way less mumbly than he was in GI Joe.

The potential longevity of this franchise partially lies in the fact that there are SOOO many characters they can use that they can easily move on from previous actors and bring in new ones as different characters in each installment.  Can't or won't bring Tatum back as Duke?  No problem.  Cast someone as Falcon or Flint.  Can't get Rachel Nichols?  Cast someone as Lady Jaye.  Can't get Wayans?  There's always Roadblock.  The list goes on and on.

My personal request?  Bring back Ray Park and the villainous cast of the first (Gordon-Levitt, Vosloo, Eccleston, the dude who played Storm Shadow, etc.).  Also, up the action and the crazyness.

Confession time. With the exception of Tatum being an uncarved block of wood I didn't have a bad time watching the first one. With someone even a little charismatic and emotive as Duke it would have been easily filed under my guilty pleasures for multiple viewings. But I couldn't stand him. So I'm out for this one.

I own the first one on DVD but still havent gotten round to watching it, that says a lot considering I recently found time to watch Year One.

If they bring back Lee Byung Hun, I'd love them to use the GI Joe movies to bring over great Korean actors for easy paychecks.  Get Song Kang Ho to join the Joes!  He can dropkick the bad guys shouting, "You think this is a rapist's paradise!?"

So it's okay to cast Koreans in the place of Japanese characters?  Oh, mcnooj, I thought I knew you.

And if they can't get Tatum back, let's bring in Flint.  And Quick Kick or fuck this movie.

For G.I. Joe 2, I would keep, Ray Park as Snake Eyes, Rachel Nichols as Scarlett, Byung-Hun Lee as Storm Shadow, Dennis Quaid as General Hawk, Christopher Eccelston as Destro, Joseph Gordon Levitt as Cobra Commander and Sienna Miller as The Baroness. I would not mind seeing Channing Tatum return as...Duke, but he is not essential.   New Joes should be...Michael Jai White as Roadblock, and Jason Statham as Flint.

Am I really now the only person who really liked G.I. Joe? It was one of the all too few big action films of the last decade where I could actually see what the fuck was going on.

I have mixed feelings about a retooling, but hey, I wasn't expecting a sequel so rock on.

Hope they give JG-L a better outfit. The full face mask he was sporting at the end was just awful.

$5 says that unless he's under contract, Eccleston will not be in this. He's not one to sit still in a role.

LinusUK, G.I. Joe Rise Of Cobra, was...#1 with many bullets as the top film in my list of, Best Films of 2009!

Ha!  I don't know a thing about GI Joe, so I don't know who's who.  Hey, if you want someone Japanese, I'd love to see Takeshi Kitano on the screen again.  He can't end his Hollywood career with Johnny Nemonic (which I haven't seen...)!!!

Wouldn't it make sense to expand Brendan Fraser's cameo from the first film if they really needed a new lead? Isn't that WHY you bring Fraser in to cameo in the first place?

Also, if they don't expand upon that Voosloolicious cliffhanger, this franchise is dead to me.
