...about JFK?

While King's last novella collection was kind of pale, I thought Under The Dome was the best novel he's done in a decade easily, so I'll be all over this.  If he can hit that sweet spot between fantasy and 60's ruminations that portions of Hearts in Atlantis did, this new one could be a treat.

I thought "Under the Dome" was a nice return to form for King so I'd be curious to see what he does with such a cool concept.   I only hope it does go into an alt history direction.   Could be lots of fun if done right.

Looking at the Kindle page, it looks like this will be another long book at 960 pages.

Under the Dome justifies the entire decade, as far as I'm concerned. It's King's Munich.

This one sounds weird, but better than a sequel to The Shining. I'm sure I'll read it at some point.

Under The Dome was excellent and this sounds interesting, so I'm in.  It certainly came out of the blue though, since all that King has really talked about recently are the Dark Tower midquel The Wind Through The Keyhole and the potential Shining follow-up Doctor Sleep.

I thought Under The Dome was a fantastic read. King creating an alternate view of an era of American history I've often found fascinating has got my interest.

Will fifth (or sixth, or seventh) the Under The Dome love, right here. Always thought Duma Key was more than a tad underrated, but King's at his best, IMO, when he's frantic and well-paced.

I just don't see Dome getting turned into a weekly TV series, though.

Count me amongst the Under The Dome lovers. With that in mind, I will be perfectly willing to read his next novel - which actually sounds pretty interesting.

I also want to throw in for liking Lisey's Story just a little more than I ought to.

Yeah, ditto on Dome.  That being said, I'll reserve judgment until I actually read it, but this has the potential to be awful.  King, like many of his generation, has a tendency to be over-maudlin and aggrandizing of JFK (for God's sake, he has Roland imagine that Kennedy is the Gunslinger of this world...barf; he also has Richie compare Big Bill to JFK in IT).  If he goes down that route, it's going to be nothing but trite and syrupy baby boomer nostalgia.  I hope not.
