Mad Max finally meets his match: rain.

I really do hope this actually gets made. I'm itching to see Tom Hardy in the outback doing really bad shit with a sawed off shotgun.

I'm rooting for this to get this series off the ground again too!

And to those who think this won't work without Mel Gibson?  You're crazy.  Will these new installments make money?  Who knows.  If they fail though, it will have nothing to do with a lack of Mel.  Most average moviegoers these days have never even heard of the original films or the character.  They might laugh at cartoon references (Simpsons, Family Guy, etc.), but I bet that most of them don't know what exactly is being made fun of.  This is a cult film franchise, nothing more.  It's not like we are talking about making an Indiana Jones movie without Harrison Ford or a fifth Die Hard without Bruce.  The Road Warrior might have brought Mel to the attention of the masses in the 80s, but it was the Lethal Weapon franchise that made him a star.  Now if they tried to do a new one in that series without Mel, it'd be a different situation.  He might be "Mad" Max Rockatansky to us, but not to the new generation that could potentially make this series a bankable franchise again.

On a side note, has anyone ever really confirmed the "shooting back-to-installments" bit with Miller?  I know that he has always said he wants to do another trilogy, but I have never read anything from his mouth about the whole "Furiosa" bit.  I think it would be awesome if he did shoot two of them at once and I know that Hardy is signed for multiple films, but I've never been able to find any hard confirmation about Mad Max: Furiosa actually becoming a reality yet.

Alright Miller, if I'm going to have to wait that long, at least leak a few photos of the finished vehicles every few months please.

This better not turn out like Gilliam's(or anyone's) Quixote film. I just want to return to that world, pronto.
