I figured it was more like the ending of The Lawnmower Man.

Two and a Half Men ended. That's the reason why.

She's stuck somewhere in a perpetual "Alexander The Great" talkback construct ala Matrix: Revolutions.

Nick mentiond she was gone in a blog but that was all I heard. It did come after some particually offensive sutff in the Egypt thread.

She got banned. The end.

I was wondering the same thing, but was too ashamed to ask. Thanks for the initiative, Ben.

I was asking the same question early on and feel that it's natural to be curious as to how it finally happened (considering her colorful history on the boards), so hopefully I'm not doing wrong by answering Ben.

I was told that she posted a PM someone sent her on a thread.  Bad form.  And that was that.

You know, she's been gone a month (I found her profile and her last post was early in February) and it was just now that I realized she hasn't been around.

What a strange person she was, even in a wild sort of place like a movie messageboard. Hopefully she gets help for some of her issues.

Certainly don't miss her on these boards, but I gotta admit that the pieces she's written for BAD have been fairly insightful.

I didn't find her insightful or informative in the least but I also didn't take offense to her like some other people did.  It's not like its a "don't know what you got until its gone" situation, but it is weird that someone that used to post 75 times a day just disappeared.  

 

I haven't been as active on these boards for the last couple of months so I didn't notice any big dust-up that would have caused a banning so I assume either she pissed off someone one time too many or she got tired of the ridicule and quit posting.

 

Like I said, I don't particularly miss her but I was just wondering if there was an interesting story behind the lack of her presence. 

 

 

She was sent a PM from a mod telling her it was the last warning about derailing threads, posting incredibly long-winded gibberish and showing willful ignorance. And she was asked not to reply to the PM, which she did, and after not getting a response, posted the PM on her blog thread and wrote a long essay about how she's not long-winded and doesn't de-rail threads and she's taking this as a sign to take a vacation from CHUD. I'm assuming they changed the locks after she left.

I assumed she was spending all her time hitting reload on Guy.com, waiting for it to launch...

Until proven otherwise, I'll remain firm in my belief "Kate" wasn't a real person but in fact multiple people writing under said account.

You can plunk that one next to my theory that Duke Fleed (who's awesome) is actually a rogue A.I. program created by Disney Imagineers in the late 90s to infiltrate internet discourse & promote studio product online. The project was later abandoned when Fleed become self-aware & the scientists failed to fix the program's "....." bug.
