Me and My Neat Beats

Ever since my senior year in high school I've been really interested in hip-hop. Now it's mostly what I listen to(although I love all genres). Eventually this led me to make some as a hobby. So Tupacca came to be.

I formed Tupacca with my friend Zack back in 2008. Scoff at our name if you want(I agree that it's stupid, but I've grown attached to it). We recorded one e.p. with the help of our friend throughout 08 and 09 and eventually "released" it last year. Intitled Ironic Hip-Hop is Dead, it was my first foray into hip-hop.

Since then we've been mainly working on beats. Mainly because we don't have a quality microphone anymore, but I've been using this time to improve my "flow" as they say. We've made two beat tapes so far, and have a third coming out on Record Store Day. This is a track off it called "Somebody Love":

Also, we have a blog where you can download said e.p. and mixtapes for free.

I'd really like it if some of you checked it out. I want to stress that we aren't nerdcore(because that's a made up genre). Our name ends up biting us in the ass on that account. Both me and Zack are big fans of the band Ween, and we always kept there tongue-in-cheek style in mind and tried to apply it to hip-hop/rap. Also samples, non-stop samples.

That tongue in cheek approach is all kinds of fun. Somebody Love is a sick track.

Keep that flow goin'. It's good stuff.

Thanks Andrew!

I've uploaded a few more tracks at www.soundcloud.com/tupacca:

Zombie Slow Flow(Nowhere to Run)- which combines The RZA, Sufjan Stevens and a good dose of Zombi/Dawn of The Dead samples

Green Miser- a MF DOOM remix sampling the "Heatmiser" song and

This is The Ringtone- an actual rap song with me on the first verse attempting a codiene-inspired chop-and-screwed style. Zack's rap on the second is even crazier. The idea being you can say just about anything as long as you have a catchy chorus.

Our 3rd beat tape, TUPACCA TAPE VOL.3: DARK 3D SEQUEL is up on our blog. We handed out a bunch of copies on Record Store Day here in Indy and for the most part I think it was a success. A bunch of the tracks are up on our previously mentioned soundcloud page. Be sure to check out the tracks "To Your Grave" and "Pen and Pad Paddle" if you feel so inclined.
