I picture him combing through scripts rather sadly though, dreaming of green screens and those ping-pong studded leotards, wishing he didn’t have to mess around with real world locations and costumes.

Mwuh huh huh... let him stew!

Good. This was a retarded idea and I'm glad it's not happening.

I'm glad this project is dead. I hope it remains that way. In the history of rediculous and un-needed remakes, this takes the cake.

Honestly, it was one of those ideas that seemed so utterly misbegotten and weird that I couldn't help but be curious what it would look like; I was kind of hoping for something along the All This And World War Two end of the WTF? spectrum.

Good news. Zemeckis was probably the only person who wanted to see this happen.

Keeping another nightmarish Zemekis mo cap film out of theaters is something to be commended.

Zemekis' use of the tech baffles me. Given the opportunity to literally create anything - to stylize and transform the world and his actors however he wished - he instead chose, over and over again, to try and recreate reality as painstakingly as possible. He spent millions upon millions of dollars to film Tom Hanks/Anthony Hopkins/etc. in live action, then obsessively recreated them via computer to look almost, but not quite, like the real actors he'd just filmed.

BIZARRE. Make it stop.

Serafinowicz can ill afford another Phantom Menance, so i'm glad this is dead.  Instead he should give us more wacky fake religions. In fact a spoof religious epic around Tarvu would be awesome.

You mean something that pays him a lot of money, for not a lot of work and doesn't involve his face being seen in any way, shape, or form?  Yeah he really can't afford to make that mistake again.

I was being sarcastic.  However he does hate being part of a film that helped destroy something he loved.

I really hope the epic, epic fail at the box office of "Mars Needs Moms" puts a final end to Zemackis's obssesion with ultra realistic mo cap films. That Yellow Submarine is gone is an good sign.

Let's hope Zemackis gets his mojo back, and starts making films like "Back to the Future" again. Hell, I would like to see him try a straight comedy like "Used Cars" a vasly underrated film, again.

If I thought there was even a hint of a chance that he could give us another Used Cars...

The original "Yellow Submarine" was a classic example of psychedelica. Why fix whats not broke?
