LSU Tigers: They cross the 50-yard line ONCE in the whole fucking game.

It will all be worth it if Alabama changes its fight song to "We Are Kickers."

Roll Tide! This defense deserved a title.

Oh, well naturally I'm sure they wouldn't mind splitting it with Oklahoma State's offense then?

ROLL TIDE ROLL!!!!!

I'm pretty certain that last night was the first time I've ever seen Nick Saban smile.

Just listening to local radio, Bobby Hebert kinda blindsided Miles at the press conference.  Basically demanding to know why he didn't push the ball down the field more and bring in Lee for Jefferson.  I guess people in bars across Louisiana were chanting "We want Lee!", which is no surprise, but it's amazing the kind of mood swings Miles engenders in his fanbase.

Glad to see it was the second worst rated Championship game. Maybe now we'll get some changes.

Supposedly, playoff is on it's way:  http://aol.sportingnews.com/ncaa-football/feed/2011-10/lsualabama/story/even-with-playoff-coming-sec-still-big-winner-lsu-alabama-national-title-game

We'll see.  Maybe I'll start the 2012 College Football thread with that bit of news when it's confirmed.

Hard to believe the season is over, but here's to shitting all over our most hated teams until August 2012.  Go 'Noles! (or Fuck you, Noles!...whichever you feel like)

Being on ESPN had to have hurt it.  The fact that on Jan. 2 only one bowl game was on network TV boggles my mind.

Yet again, my favorite sport limps to a dull, depressing finish.

What a brutal game. The Jordan Jefferson Face belongs in the pantheon. He was rattled and yelling at teammates in the first quarter.  I couldn't believe that not only was he not pulled, but they kept running the option!

I'm happy for Bama fans, especially those dealing with the tornado's aftermath. Too bad they won in a game that will be forever remembered as poop.

I think Jarrett Lee's previous games against Bama prevented Les from putting him in the game. The choice between a QB that's afraid to run the option and a QB that will throw an interception every fourth pass isn't much of a choice at all. Also, do LSU fans even watch their games? Lee is not good.

Putting it on so far out from the other BCS bowl games just baffles me. They've made it compete with NFL playoffs for football fans attention. Why would they do that? Take public interest when it exists.

Edit: also playoff al-fucking-ready

It often became a convoluted mess, but at least with the old system, by midnight on New Year's Day, you usually had a pretty good idea who the champion was going to be.  And you didn't have the Go Daddy Bowl being played four days later.

College football should end New Year's Day.  Simple as that.

Yeah, this whole act of extending the sport season as long as you can to stay in the public consciousness, that other sports have been doing as well(I'm looking at you MLB post season awards), is just withering peoples interest. It works for the NFL because it's the NFL, everything else needs to keep itself a bit more compact. Use excitement to build excitement, don't just assume it'll be there whenever.

National Signing Day today.  FSU is doing pretty well so far.  Lots of defensive talent.  One kid that had been committed since 2010 flipped to UF, but I think that was kind of expected, plus huge wins already on Dline, including #1 player in the nation, Mario Edwards, Jr.

Wow, a real insight to recruiting happening right now--a recruit for VT flipped and signed an LOI to Miami instead (he's from south Florida).  He got on the phone with Beamer to tell him, and this what has transpired (a sportswriter is listening in on the call and transcribing):

I'm listening in right now as Frank Beamer is telling Ja Wand Blue, "you lied to me."

Blue is telling Frank Beamer, "I wanted to stay home." Beamer: "This doesn't make any sense. I've never felt more betrayed or lied to."

Beamer, to Blue: "You want to go to a program that wins bowl games, a clean program, that dominates in the ACC?"

Beamer: "It would be a blessing for you to go away for school. I promise. You've got homeboys here. ... We need you. We're counting on you."

Ja Wand Blue is listening to Beamer speak his piece. This is incredibly awkward.

Beamer: "Jawand Blue, the moment you step on the field against us, you're a dead man. You got it. You're dead.

Wow at that last line.

Oh Christ, Frank. Win a bowl game or two and you wouldn't have to chastise/beg teenagers.

ETA: That last line. Jesus fuck. Turns out to have been an assistant coach and not Beamer, but the dialogue was confirmed by VT, so no less ugly for it.

Yeah, think I'm joining my fellow alumni pals and taking next season off from CFB.

If I didn't hate this process enough already... man, that is just all kinds of skeevy.

Yeah, sorry I had a bunch of stuff come up at work--I read at lunch that it was an asst coach, but still...a captain is responsible for the actions of his crew, so to speak.  Dude's got to be toast, right?

Weird that the article doesn't even mention the "you're dead" line.

Looks like Tennessee got the top Juco WR. People are saying this gives our offense a strong 3-wide, but I'm not convinced that Rogers and Hunter will stay with the program.

LOL, is that why FSU built/is building one on campus as well?  That's the best advertising CFA could ever not pay for.

Les Miles calls out 18 year old kid for his lack of "a chest."  I fail to see what the guy's breasts have to do with anything.
