AT LAST, YOU CAN LOOK AT ALL OF CAPTAIN AMERICA - Page 3

Maybe it's just me, but Silvestri's score for those two films kinda went in one ear and out the other (aside from the use of the original A-Team theme).

I can easily hum his themes for Back to the Future, Roger Rabbit, and Forrest Gump.  Maybe it's because I saw those movies at a much more impressionable age, but similar scores just don't stick with me the way they used to.

Obviously it's a 'to each their own' taste thing, but lets not forget that those three examples have also given us some of the best (and my personal favorite) emotionally effecting, stirring movie themes themselves.

Poledouris gave us this, Goldsmith gave us this and Zimmer gave us this just as three quick examples.

Zimmer also gave us THE THIN RED LINE, his best score by far. For some reason i am imagining CAPTAIN AMERICA with the 'attack on the village' track.

This looks great.

Wasn't there some word of the Invaders being in this at some point? Or at least some version of them as an international super-team? I'm actually hoping they dropped that - enough new stuff/characters to introduce and develop as it is.

And, yes, sadly the Invaders are no longer players in the film.  Which makes me sad.  I knew it was a long shot, but I'd have liked to have seen Sub-Mariner show up.

Kevin Feige has stated in a couple of recent interviews that as psyched as they were at the thought of bringing The Invaders to the screen.................it would have been too much.  Assuming this does well enough to score Cap another solo film (and I can't see it not playing like gangbusters), we will probably see The Invaders pop up.  Same goes for Baron Zemo and Winter Soldier.  Supposedly any Cap sequels will have scenes in both the past and the present, ala Highlander.  Judging from what I have seen so far, I hope they can keep Johnston around for any future Captain America films.

That makes it kinda weird, because if this does end with Cap getting frozen, it basically begins with Captain America's origins and then has to skip all the way to the end of Cap's WWII adventures.

I'm betting on them showing what year it is from time to time on screen...................allowing them to show Cap throughout the war, as well as leaving gaps to plug in other stories on down the line.

Musical montage set to The Times They Are a-Changin'?  Oh wait, I forgot who was directing for a second.
