There are a few gems from the year Elvis croaked and I popped out, such as Annie Hall and Close Encounters, but I've gotta go with Star Wars.

Somehow just saw this thread, anywho, here be mine from 1990

I actually hadn't seen this film until about a year ago, and it of course exceeded all expectations. It helped that about two weeks later Community's Goodfellas episode aired.

1975 for me. Jaws has to take the top spot, with Dog Day Afternoon coming a close second. Special mention has to go to a movie I've never seen - Deafula, an adaptation of Dracula done completely in sign language. That makes my list due to sheer awesomeness of concept.

1981 here as well, and I'm gonna go with either An American Werewolf in London, or, since it technically premiered on Oct 15, 1981:

"Scarface", my favourite movie, actually came out the year I was born. Of course I didn't see it until I was a teen. No, I am not 79 years old. I refer to the 80s movie. I still need to see the original.
