IMHO, this is John Waters masterpiece. It's the bridge between his early grubby low budget flicks and his more polished films. There's just such an incredible level of sleaze, filth and degenerate behavior in this movie. I fucking LOVE it!!! I think it also helps that Waters regular Divine wasn't in it because I just could never stand that shrill, annoying bastard. Desperate Living, like Street Trash, is one of the greatest movies that Troma never made.
