BILL MURRAY TO GET SUCKLEYED AS FDR

I've actually been digging up interviews with Murray from the past year or so on the subject of Ghostbusters 3, and I knew he was dragging his feet about it, but I was happy to see that it really does seem to stem from a desire to leave well enough alone. Better to have one great movie, and one sequel to ignore, than one great movie and two to sequels to ignore. Of course, it's probably easier for him to say that because he's still relevant in Hollywood with a career that's still going better than anyone involved in the original film.  

It's going to be interesting to see what Murray does with this role, seeing how he applies his strengths to the character and assumes something recognizable.

I like that he's mandating Venkman dying and coming back as a ghost for him to even think about coming back to Ghostbusters.

Of all the people to play FDR, I don't think Murray would have ever popped up in my head, At all. In fact, of all the fankwank casting stuff I've done for possible biopic this, and biopic that, Murray's name has never come up for anyone. He's an institution his own self. I think Hunter S. Thompson and his character from Ed Wood are the only instances where Murray has played an actual person.

I want Murray to be in something, and I guess this is the best word, dangerous. This project is something along the lines I'm talking about that Murray was rumored to be involved in. A real nasty, dirty crime flick with Murray playing a reprobate of some sort. Kind of like Mad Dog and Glory, but nastier. Sadly, I think Cogen's Trade was just that: a rumor. I haven't seen Limits of Control, but lukewarm reception and Murray's role probably being one scene hasn't gotten me real hot to see that.

To hell with the reviews, I love The Limits of Control. Murray's role is really small though, and he doesn't appear till the end.

Wow.  This casting is left field but brilliant.  I never would've thought of it, and Murray is one of my favorite actors, but it's perfect.  Ghostbusters 3 needs to shit or get off the pot.  Go into production or announce it's dead.  If it's dead, just make another videogame with all of the celebrity voices again.  That'd probably be just as good, really.

As probably the very epitome of the person they would be making Ghostbusters 3 for, I have to stress and repeat again that Ghostbusters 3, in its current form, should never, ever, ever, EVER happen. This casting is perfect, the subject matter is fascinating, and Murray should be fantastic in it. Bring it!

Yeah, I vote for this one over Ghostbusters 3 too.
