Great review, sir. Amazing film.

Thanks very much, Worky! This film really impressed me, even though I was already well aware of Morris' talents.

Why does Jaaaaaaaaaaaaam never get a mention when Chris Morris' name comes up?  It's his masterpiece.

On topic: I'm a shite for not seeing this yet.  Will fix that by the weekend.

To be fair to the man, if every review of something he's involved with mentioned everything worth mentioning, we'd probably never be done reading. I so nearly referenced "Paedogeddon" for example, but chose not to for just this reason.

But wasn't Paedogeddon just an extension of Brass Eye?  Jam's not a crowd pleaser but deserves recognition for pushing a lot of boundaries.  I feel the lack of Alan Partridge hurts its mass appeal.

On topic, I finally watched Four Lions and was surprised by it's overwhelming sense of sadness.  I lived just outside of London during the 7/11 bombings and remember the sense of dread I had coming into work because many of my friends and co-workers were Muslim and I wanted to show my support because I knew that what had happened would make their lives and those of their friends and family hell for years.  Morris knocked this one out of the park.  The best bit was the "Is a Wookie a bear" bit.

I'm shite for not falling in love with this sooner.

Well, Nathan Barley doesn't get the love it deserves either. Or his work in The IT Crowd. The man just had to shout "JEN!" repeatedly or flash that confused/irate scowl around to dominate the screen. I believe you're right, but I still find "Paedogeddon" probably the funniest thing he's ever done. Just thinking about "Nonce Sense"... classic.

Good point about the somber aspect of Four Lions, by the way. That's one of the main reasons I don't understand people saying "it's over-rated." The film's sharp on both the comedic and dramatic scale. One comment in the talk-backs comparing this to Adam Sandler's typical movies was baffling in how off the mark it was.
