But does that have to mean "no longer a need for practical FX"?  Don't get me wrong, I love creature animation (I've done plenty of mocap myself) and WETA (top of the friggin line), but I'm conflicted here. This franchise has such a history steeped in makeup.

 

EDIT: Looking forward to tomorrow's trailer nevertheless.

Can we please stop using RISE OF in film titles for the next, say, decade?

 

The ape fx seem really good (it's WETA after all) and I'm kinda curious to see Serkis doing the ape again, but I'm not sold on the story. There may even be laughs at the end when

the film states "see, this is how apes conquered earth".
