MICHAEL BAY SAYS STUFF ABOUT TRANSFORMERS

Hahahahahahaha!  Oh, Mr. Bay... you do go on!

I'm disappointed that Bay is so apologetic about Transformers 2.  Is he mellowing out with age!?  He's supposed to be scoffing at the negative criticism and talking up that he makes movies for audiences and not critics!  The Twins were his favorite characters!  C'mon, Bay!  MAN UP!  

Transformers 2 did well, but he got the feeling that people were getting fatigued by the franchise and is in spin control mode for the new one?  And since he has a scapegoat...

The comment about Egypt is kinda hilarious though.  Do you think Optimus would have helped in the protests?

And I see he threw out Black Hawk Down as a concept.  Maybe shoulda used Battle for Los Angeles?  Ha ha.

There's a roundtable video/interview making the rounds from Hollywood Reporter, and it spotlights blockbuster screenwriters talking about the experiences on coming tentpoles. The players are Jonathan Aibel (Kung Fu Panda), Greg Berlanti (Green Lantern), Ehren Kruger (Transformers), Christopher Markus (Captain America) Ashley Edward Miller (Thor, X-Men: First Class) and Roberto Orci (Cowboys and Aliens). They asked Orci and Krueger about Transformers 2, which they collaborated on, with a special emphasis on all the shit-talking Bay has done towards the project. The poor guys sounded like bullied kids who were regretful they didn't get their tormentor his lunch money quick enough. Really paints an ugly portrait of the guy.
