American Gods is my favorite Gaiman book. I've wanted to see a movie adaptation for awhile. This excites me to find out that they're actually doing it! And with Gaiman involved, it cant be bad.

Hell yeah. And I don't think HBO needs to look any further than ROME to find their Shadow.

I suggested Jeremy Renner in the comments, since I think he'd play the down and out ex-con with issues great, but Titus fucking Pullo is also a great choice.

Man, I loved this book. I need to give it another read.

Nah, as I said in the Talkback, Shadow's supposed to be big and badass.  And this fella is both of those things and out of work with the cancellation of "Lights Out".

I bet this is much less of a straight adaptation than Game of Thrones. It could just take place in the universe of American Gods, like Anansi Boys.

Well then...Chiwetel Ejiofor for both Fat Charlie AND Spider, if they drop by.

I imagine Shadow MUCH more physically imposing. Someone (without a word or action) who looks like someone you wouldn't mess with.
