Daniel Craig is the man with no name, and no memory.

Looks like potential fun time at the movies. Thought of CLOSE ENCOUNTERS and WAR OF THE WORLDS when those deep deafening tones sounded out at the UFO's intro.

Looks ludicrous. I like.

I wasn't too excited by the first footage, but now I'm convinced: this is going to be the Pirates of the Caribbean of 2011.  That movie with the trailer and title that everyone laughs at, the movie that no one thinks will work, and then word of mouth turns it into a monster.  Watching that trailer reminded me a lot of seeing the first Pirates trailer for the first time in a packed theater.  When the title came onscreen I turned to my little sister and we both laughed our asses off at how absurd it looked, along with everyone else in the theater.  I mean, we laughed that trailer out of town, and we know how that story ended.  This looks bugfuck nuts in the best way possible.

Looks like a sexy little action blockbuster. My heart is not made of stone, so that footage (and Rockwell!) earns a matinee at least.

Kinda weird how the article for this popped up last night, but the thread only appeared today. Not the usual turnaround. I watched the trailer last night thinking that the thread would be up immediately and have 30 replies.

Yeah, I'm not sure what happened. Some kind of glitch prevented it from going straight into the forum, as usual.   I was quite bummed about it!

Hey look, someone woke Harrison Ford up!

When Ford goes, "I want that man!" I keep hearing Richard Kimble going, "You find this man!"

Looks very nice. Might be the pleasant surprise of this summer season.

Anyone else think it's funny that they have the aliens lassoing their abductees?

This will likely fail at the box office, the concept is just annoying. I suppose if the movie is absolutely amazing and the competition is trash that it has a shot. I certainly do love me some Sam Rockwell. But cmon, nearly everyone I know reacted to this concept the same way, with derisive dismissal. Even my 8 and 11 year old boys scoffed at the poster.

Yes it is cool on the internets to predict the opposite of whatever the mainstream is saying, and yes there are some talented people involved in making this film, but it will really take a miracle for this to be a break out hit.

This will need word of mouth, but I think it has great potential. It's an original idea. You've got the new, popular James Bond (and his western American accent threw me off a bit). Harrison Ford in a big budget flick. We'll see how much weight "From the Director of Iron Man" carries, but even Jon Favreau's lesser films are still entertaining. Audioslave aside....I liked the trailer, and I think it sells itself as well as "Cowboys and Aliens" can. Oh, and this needed more SAM ROCKWELL. Everyone loves that guy.

The concept is annoying? As in it causes vexation? It's bothersome and irritating? Do you mean to use that word in that way? I mean, it's not like science fiction and the Western have never crossed paths before in the history of film or literature.

Personally, I think it looks...interesting, but the further I get away from Iron Man and the more I think about the abysmal Iron Man 2, the more I begin to feel that Favreau is ultimately not the guy you want handling your big, ridiculous, high-concept sci-fi actioners. He's wonderful with actors (especially with actors who favor improv), and I think he has a strong cast here (although I really haven't jumped on the Olivia Wilde train, she seems like a very smart young woman and all that, but not a particularly intriguing talent), but I remain unconvinced that he's the kind of director that can make a film like this leap off the screen as it were.

The concept is sound. It's been said before, but I think the only thing holding back the movie is the title.

The Audioslave was very much out of place. Jon Favreau really has a thing for Tom Morello.

yes, annoying, as in vexing and irritating. The last movie i remember,  that mixed science fiction and western genre's was wild wild west (more steampunk that science fiction, but I am stretching here), which was also annoying. I am not talking about science fiction embracing western themes like Firefly, science fiction is perfect for that.

It's like they put 15 things that pre adolescent boys like to watch fight in a hat and picked 2 of them. Now if they had selected ninjas vs pirates my butt would be in the seat, cuz everyone knows that ninjas pwn pirates.

I want pirates and zombies personally, just for this exchange of clever dialogue...

"YARRR"

"UUUGH..."

"YARRRR!"

"UUUGHHHH..."

"YAR!!!"

*violence ensues*

My "ex" made the trailer! Nice.

Yeah, because we know how kids these days are clamoring for their cowboys!

"It wasn't me, it was the alien-tech-armed man!" Now I wish there was an even-more-cantankerous Tommy Lee Jones in this as well. THE 3 BURIALS OF MIB
