Apparently he was just drunk and yelling at her on the sidewalk. The cops even just told him to go home at first, since there was no physical contact during the argument, but he started getting belligerent with them, so they arrested him for disturbing the peace and the bullshit domestic abuse charge, which the wife is already saying she's not gonna follow through with.

As TMZ first reported, that discussion with police included Cage daring cops to arrest him ... which they eventually did.  


 So, archive that "wife beater" tag, he's just a drunk ass.

As soon as I read this thread's title, I had visions of his hair leaping off his head and assaulting his wife.  Maybe he whipped his hair back and forth.  Whipped it real good.

As annoying as a drunk and belligerant Nic Cage probably is, tacking on a bogus domestic abuse charge seems wrong and like belittling to actual abuse sufferers.  Also...thanks HarleyQuinn for getting that song stuck in my head, going to be an exciting evening trying to get rid of that damn earworm!!

1. I would pay triple price for a Dog/Nic Cage buddy movie. That shit would be out of this world.

 

2. Does "I dare you to arrest me?" ever end well for the darer? I've actually seen this go down in person (wasn't me; some really wasted kid in college in my dorm) and it always amazes me that people dare the police to do what they're empowered to do. Maybe it's just my naivete for never having been that drunk.
