The National Plan Grateful Dead Tribute Compilation

Found this on Pitchfork. Supposedly, The National are doing a "sequel" to the Dark Was The Night compilation they "curated" last year. The sequel/follow up will be cover versions of Grateful Dead songs, by artists such as The National, Fleet Foxes, Bon Iver, Crystal Castles, and others. The album will again benefit the AIDS-fighting Red Hot Organization. Personally, I think that this is an absolutely incredible idea, and if pulled off could be HUGELY sucessful and popular, probably more-so than Dark Was The Night.

I have to be honest, I'm more inclined to listen to "Deadicated" than any actual Grateful Dead album I own save Workingman's Dead, so I'm up for another round of covers. Los Lobos' "Bertha" remains a particular favorite.

Normally I'm not a big fan of covers, but in this case I'm very interested.
