2011-2012 NFL season - Page 46

Wow, someone sent like 8000 bars of "Butterfingers" to the square in Boston in honor of Welker's drop.  That's cold.

Oh, and I saw someone post this on Twitter: "Coughlin - 2, Tiki Barber - 0"

The Tiki Barber thing is one of the reasons why I don't mind the Giants winning even though I didn't want them too. Also, the fact that Eli can now go to family dinners and be like, who has the most rings now bitches? Speaking of, Archie was actually looking pissed at the end of the Super Bowl that Eli was winning. Guess he wants his firstborn to be getting all the acclaim.

thecallahan, Eli is not an...elite QB, he is an...ELIte QB!  To me the...Best QB of the Manning Household is...ELI!

Obviously the family's personal dynamics could be anything, but c'mon... a dad that has been this involved in his son's careers, you actually think he is playing favorites to that degree?

That's because when Eli was born, Archie told his wife, "If that boy wins more Super Bowls than Peyton, I will give you 10 million dollars."

Not one comment about Gronk... hm.  If he was anywhere close to 100%, different game.  Oh wells.

The Patriots scored about 50% of their regular season average in the SB. If Gronkowski is 50% of their offense, that's a problem they need to address. Injuries are part of the game. Gronkowski didn't make the other receivers  drop numerous passes, or make Brady take a bizarre safety or throw a terrible pass on the INT. NE's offense needs to be the best unit on the field for them to win, and they were the worst.

Bitter Boston Face.

Why is everyone shitting on Gisele Bundchen for defending her husband?  I seriously do not get this "controversy".  Any self-respecting wife would have said the same thing she said.  I bet a lot of Pats fans said the same thing she said.

Pssst, it's a joke.... But Archie did look annoyed at something

As for Gronk who gives a shit, so he partied? What, he's supposed to hole up for a week and cry about the loss? I don't see anyone calling out Matt Light for doing the exact same thing (sans the shirtless bit). And as for Giselle she did nothing wrong, she said what every other fan of the Patriots was thinking (rightly or wrongly). I'm sure there's no problem in the locker room about it, Brady just shrugs to his teammates and says something along the lines of "Whatcha gonna do?"

...Is it the draft yet?

Giselle could not be more wrong here.  First of all, she's not answering interview questions, she's emotionally shouting back at Giants fans who are heckling her.  Great time to try and win a debate with people I'm sure are concerned with your response!  Second, she takes the tack of throwing her husband's team mates under the bus immediately after a devastating loss, classy Yoko.  Finally, that was a shitty pass to Welker on Brady's part, so husband Tom doesn't really have a leg to stand on there.  Yes, Welker catches that ball most every time, and should have here, but he was wide open and Brady horrible misplaced the ball forcing Welker into a far more acrobatic catch than was necessary.  Brady should have easily hit him in stride in the first place and Giselle should shut the hell up.

/shrug   Fans like to jump to irrational conclusions based on an image or soundbite, especially out of context.  I figured that's what you were doing, as I saw no particular indication it was meant as a joke.

Yes, I agree completely agree with your assesment. NE's offense was built around their Tight-ends (Gronk and Hernandez) OchoCinco was useless, Branch is over the hill and Welker is a slot guy not a deep threat. I don't know if Gronk is 50% of their offense but with 2 first rounds picks they'd be smart to use one of those on  a wide receiver.

I wish, its like over two long months away.

The draft?  We haven't even had the combine and been able to overreact to the results yet.

Don't forget impending Free Agency also coming up, plus there are still coaching vacancies to be had.  Actually, I'll go ahead and start the ol' 2012-2013 NFL Season since we're "officially" done with 2011-2012.

I'm sure Brady would prefer she had just flipped the people off and not thrown his teammates under the bus. It's not a huge deal, but it's classless, and forces him to be a little extra nice to those guys when they get back together next season. Does Isotoner make catcher's mitts?

The only thing that seemed weird about that to me was seeing him bouncing around on his injured ankle. He was useless in the Super Bowl, but okay to mosh? Alrighty...

I wish Peyton would just sign so I could stop pretending the 49ers might pull their heads out of their asses and realize he's a better option than Alex Smith. Groooooan.

I thought now was as good a time as any to bring this back up.  You know, since he ran a slow as hell 40 and blamed the ASU coaching staff for his sub-par season.  This was a guy who many thought was a top 10 talent, and he's freefalling at this point.  He won't even be the first Sun Devil taken.

Local radio brings on ex Sun Devil players who went on to the NFL, and every one of them says that a team who takes him in the first half of the draft is playing with fire.  It's like a clinic in how not to handle your NFL draft stock.

Latest update according to the local news.  Exactly ZERO teams have flown Burfict out for an interview or a private workout.  He's not been contacted by a soul.  That horrible impression he left at the combine is the last impression he's given to anybody because they don't want to hear any more.  There's rumblings that he may actually not be drafted.  Personally I think he's too talented for that to happen, somebody will roll the dice in a late round on the kid and hope they can get his head on straight.  With that being said, that's a pretty amazing fall from top 10 to possibly not drafted.

Have you read this recent article at The Daily? It's stunning how far he's fallen.
