I know this is a long shot given how obscure this movie is, but the Chewers seem to know obscure movies better than a lot of movie buffs on the 'net, so I'm gonna ask about it here. Has anyone here seen this movie?  It sounds sort of like a precursor to "Lost in Translation", but there are probably at least as many differences between the two as there are similarities. For example, it seems to have generally poor reviews online and was not made with the budget, resources, and talent of a second generation director with the pedigree of a Sofia Coppola.

Actually, it was directed by the woman who directed "Buffy the Vampire Slayer", which was apparently career suicide. She has pretty much no other credits, besides the Joss Whedon shows she gets producer credit for despite not contributing to them at all (because she retains movie rights to "Buffy the Vampire Slayer"). So yeah, not a director with a very good reputation, but I'm still curious about this movie she did because of my interest in Japanese culture and 80s punk rock, which are allegedly integral to its story. The movie was never released on DVD and I doubt the VHS is easy to track down, so if anyone has seen it, I'm guessing they're part of a very small minority.
