South Park Season 15 - Page 2

Their contract is good through 2013.

Yeah, it's not ending any time soon. It'll be interesting to see if the ending sticks. I wonder if even they know yet.

I could totally see them aging the kids into teenagers, with all the changes big and small that that would entail. It'd be insane to attempt that, but it's not like they've got anything left to prove.

Either way, I do hope this mid-season finale is addressed when the show returns. It was just too good of an episode to hand-wave away.

Click on the picture...not sure why it's not animated in the post.

Thank you so much Joe. The hilarity that will bring people for years to come knows no bounds.

Really enjoyed the episode and I loved how they tackled modern-day cynicism. It's pretty obvious Matt and Trey are getting tired of making this show (who can blame them?) and I completely agree with the comparisons to The Simpsons. After awhile, it just stopped being as funny. I still enjoy the show and I still know I can count on having one or two favorite episodes from each new season. It just doesn't seem to be as consistent. With Matt and Treys' Broadway show getting rave reviews (I would kill to see it) it's pretty obvious they want to move on to bigger and better things and simply don't have the same amount of time to devote to each new SP episode.

I love that this is one of the only shows I can think of that the writers can straight up write an episode about how shitty they feel toward their own show. When a guy like Seth McFarlane does the same thing on Family Guy, it's a joke. This was very much real.

Everything I've read says their contract is up this year. I think these next seven episodes this fall are it.

I've seen it stated in numerous places that they re-upped their contract through 2013, but they all seem to source this same Hollywood Reporter article from March. That's the only real confirmation anyone has that the contract that was supposed to end this year was extended. So, the question is, did THR get it right or did they make a mistake?

Really good episode. Pretty moving at the end.

I think the "aging, cynical asshole" can be applied to the SP fans that have been declaring the show's decline over the past few years. The Simpsons' decline is quantifiable but, IMO, SP is just as hit or miss as it ever was. The difference is simply that, a decade into the show, the novelty has worn off.

Totally disagree. Much like the Simpsons it used to be that every episode was great. Sure some were better than others but there were no real stinkers (outside of the "Great expectations" thing with Pip). But ever since they made Team America it seems like more and more bad episodes were being produced. To the point where much like the Simpsons when something was good it was really good and when it was bad it was really bad.

The first batch of episodes for this season were pretty good. Let's hope they keep up the quality...especially if this is indeed it.

That's what I got after a bit of thought. It's telling the jaded viewership it's time for a divorce; if you're bored with them, they're ten times more bored with you.

Man, that britches stuff just killed. Obviously born of the simple joy to be found in saying the word "britches". I'm seeing this marriage thru goddammit!

The article reads like it was written by someone who spent a lot of up-close time with the duo. I'd be quite surprised if it was wrong.

Holy shit. That Jim Carrey penguin movie is a real thing?!?

Hell yeah!  They've been playing the ad for that shit on TV all the time.

What is really fucking a hilarious is I know of a film production company that was trying to pitch a duck as president movie based on some shitty kid's book.

Matt and Trey were just on The Daily Show and aquashed the rumors that they were leaving.  Overreaction by the net yet again.

That was... fucking great.

Drunk assburgers matrix great.

I think I laughed non-stop from the point where Stan "entered the Matrix" until the end.

"Rock monsters?"

"Or Aliens. Or AI. Fuck you."

That final scene was great.

Good episode, but that ending depressed the hell out of me. A little too close to home.

Ditto.

That documentary was pretty great. What they manage to do in 1 week is an amazing feat. The show has no business being this funny.

My favorite part was the poor lady whose job is to tell Comedy Central what they're doing: "So... they poop into each other's mouth... No, at this point we don't see any poop... but that might change..."

"Let's try to keep the pussies. We'll beep the fucks."

wow. just....wow.

one of my favorite episodes in a long while. I lost it when Cartman gets tossed.

great episode.

Mackey getting uncontrollable shits at the end was such a cheap gag but hilarious nonetheless. I loved when he vaults up to the ceiling. Also loved the "mkay" signature on Cartman's suicide note.
