Fuck yes. Pearce has become a hell of a character actor, especially considering he generally eschews blockbuster stuff for smaller films where he can stretch his acting chops to the full. I revisited L.A. Confidential recently, and it's still exciting to see him and Crowe, these then-unknown Aussies, go toe-to-toe with all these Hollywood heavyweights. He's shown a lot of smarts in his career choices, and I like that when he does go for a big franchise movie this is what he picks. Who would'a thunk that a guy from Neighbours would turn out so, well, good?
