I thought it was Baby as well.

Geez, was that really Sean Young in this? It's been a LONG time since I saw this, but I remember not hating it. Cute baby dinasour. As you said, much of the movie in really adult in parts.

Correction: Dinosaur! was a TV documentary, not a short. Also, it and its predecessor, the short film Prehistoric Beast, weren't made by Wil Vinton and are not technically nor officially Claymation (tm). That amazing work was all Phil Tippett.

Correction Correction: Nope, I'm talking about this. Never seen the Phil Tippett thing. Though I'm certainly gonna check it out.

EDIT: Vinton's short Dinosaur was used as part of a longer film about dinosaurs, ‪Dinosaurs! A Fun-Filled Trip Back In Time!‬

Ah, confusing titles, sorry.

Never seen Prehistoric Beast? You're in for a treat. They've just restored it.

This movie, as well as Dinosaurus, pretty much shaped my perception of dinosaurs when I was a kid. And I saw both of them many times.

Btw, that tent almost-sex scene is also one of the few images I recall from the movie. I remember the pilot as well, but I can't remember it being in Africa, strangely enough. Probably for the best too.

Oh, hell, "Baby".  I remember vividly how it was advertised on the Disney Channel as a movie with a baby dinosaur in it.   The one time I saw it as a child I remember being scared and utterly baffled by what I was seeing.  And you have to remember it felt like it was the *only* dinosaur movie kids my age got for the longest time.  Ah, life before "Jurassic Park".

This TV special, on the other hand, melted my face off as a kid.  Phil Tippett became one of my heroes and the animated segments with the Maiasaura family blew my mind.  Man, I really need to revisit it someday.
