Since I'm still getting messages asking what's going on (and I don't t get the luxury of a post or mention on the main site) thought I'd drop in here to say that yes, I'm no longer working for CHUD. This is old news to most of you who I talk with on Facebook/Twitter, but just wanted to let everyone else know. I've been working for CC/CHUD for a long time (Would've been six years in November) so this is definitely a hard move. It wasn't something I wanted or even chose but on the other hand it's something I needed. I'm going to miss this place but I can't see myself coming back to the boards, sadly. Feels like visiting an ex-girlfriend.

Anyway, just wanted to thank you all for all the great time I've spent on these boards. I started off here as a lurker and then a poster and jumped at the chance to write for CC, and had an amazing time talking film, games, and everything else. We had a great little community here and I loved being able to contribute to it. My one hope is that I helped  introduce some of you folks to films and games that you loved as much as I did- because I can't even count the things I learned from the people here.

Anyone who wants to keep in touch, I've restarted my little Tumblr blog and am all over twitter/facebook. Take care!

Good luck man. It's sad to see you go.

Don't know why this is locked.

Alex, you are a legend. Great success to you wherever you end up.

This should not be locked. Seriously? Jesus christ.

Unlocked. Have at.

RIP ALEX

WHO'S NEXT?????

Alex, I’m sorry that your departure was so acrimonious, and so public.  I think both you and CHUD deserve better.

Thanks for all your great work over the years.  I look forward to reading your stuff in the future, wherever that may be.

Every time I go away for a bit, take a break from Chud, bad shit seems to happen. Sorry to see Alex go as this place is losing an outstanding writer. Best of luck to ya and your future endeavors.

Anybody care to say what happened???

My guess is people asking "what happened" instead of just "goodbye and good luck.  yadda yadda.  you did good stuff." is the reason Nick closed this right off the bat.  Everyone wants to know the inside dirt.  Who cares?  Seriously.  If you do, you probably should have something better to do.  So, good luck to you in the future, Alex.

I was not curious about it until I read from this thread:

"Alex, I’m sorry that your departure was so acrimonious, and so public"

Sorry for being so unreasonable (yes sarcasm intended).

I naively thought that it was common knowledge, it was not my intention to add fuel to the fire. Sorry, gang.

You will be missed all the best to you.

Also what the heck is going on around here?

Good luck in all that you do.  It was CC that brought me to Chud and for me you were always an integral voice for this site.  You'll be missed.

So you're the one responsible. Obviously you need to stop taking breaks from CHUD!

Damn.

Good luck, Alex, be well, you are a terrific writer and you will kick ass anywhere you go.

On a side note, this is the last thing I needed to read after the conservatives got a majority government.

Alex, Chud is losing a great talent. I always enjoyed your work and I'm really going to miss your writing. Best of luck in all your future endevors, and maybe we will finally meet up on the PSN (if it returns).

Man, your MCP stuff was the best of the bunch, I really like the game coverage they have around here. I hope someone new picks it up soon. Sorry to see you go, you seemed like an alright sort of guy.

Truly a shame, very sad to see him go.

Godspeed Alex, I know this didn't happen like you wanted but I hope you can take the experience and use it to forge ahead and make dreams come true.

Everything happens for a reason. I truly believe that. You were a huge voice on this site and will be sorely missed, but I have no doubt you will go to do bigger and better things. Thank you for all the blood, sweat and tears you gave to CHUD in order to bring amazing content to us readers. No go kick some ass in all your future endeavors!

If it weren't for Alex, I wouldn't have given movies like In The Loop, or Afterschool a chance because I may not have known about them. He's the guy that clued me in to them. I know he majorly covered horror movies, and video games, but I never thought he got his due beyond that.

And I really felt weird writing all that in the past tense.

So depressing seeing these great writers leave.

Best wishes to you and your family!

You did for me.  God speed, sir.

You'll definitely be missed around here. But when one door closes, another opens!

A truly talented writer. Just dug reading everything you wrote, Alex. Especially enjoyed your video game write-ups. Great work. You'll be missed around here.

All best Alex.

Bookmarked the blog page.

Best of luck, Alex. I've enjoyed your work over the years and I'm sorry that I didn't express that enjoyment more often.

Sorry to see you go, man. Best of luck!

Always loved your stuff Aelx and your game reviews and pieces were some of the few gaming articles on the web I always took time to read.

So, the earthquake/tsunami in Japan happened for a reason?

I said this on your Facebook page but it needs repeating, you are the only Games reviewer I trust and i wouldn't have given some games I own a shot it if wasn't for your reviews. So it is truly a shame to see you go.

Enjoyed your video games work as long as I've been reading the site, best of luck for the future Alex.

God speed, Alex. I'll always remember that you gave me my first Creature-Corner DVD review assignment... BLOODZ VS WOLVEZ!

And your dead cat thread. RIP

You'll be missed!

Quakes are caused by the movement of "plates" on the surface of the earth, which in turn, resulted in tsunamis.

I was referring to how people respond to life's events - good or bad - and how it says a lot about your character. Awful situations can humble people and make them realize what really matters in life. Alex can and will feel shitty about losing his gig here at CHUD. But he'll soon realize that what he thought was a curse, is really a blessing. Everything bad in my life, in hindsight, has lead me to a better place. If you want to equate natural disasters to interpersonal situations in order to make a lame ass joke, so be it. I happily value the life that I have and am conscious of the opportunities life affords me, even if those opportunities are disguised.

Alex, you are a great writer.

You're awesome, Alex.

Ah, damn it.

Bye, Alex. You'll be missed.

Failed experiment. Sorry guys, it's time for me to go for good this time. Take care everyone- I'll probably still lurk around the forums here and there.

All the best to you as always Alex. I hope to still see you around here don't be a stranger.

Son of a bitch! Stop teasing us like this!

Shit.

Bummer. Good luck in your future everything Alex.

Ok that truly sucks.

Sigh. Well, best of luck, man. Please don't be a complete stranger on the boards.

Damn. Sorry sir. Good luck son.

Oh man. Sorry it didn't work out.

If you start writing regularly elsewhere can you drop a few links? I'm fucked if I can track down Damon's regular outlet.

All the best sir.
