Hello

Nick. Long time lurker and poster. The first actually. Instead of a Good-Bye Thread I want to have a Hello Thread. If you're reading this you're still on the boards. You still read the site, whether out of enjoyment or to nitpick. I'm not concerned which. Bottom line is this: We need traffic. We need discussion. We need talkbacks. We need FB/Twitter links. We need this community to breathe. Create new topics that encourage discussion. Be friendly. Use the Wikis on here. The Chat Room. The past two years have been incredibly dense with work and effort and painful in staff issues and a horribly sagging ad market. I used to think CHUD was going to be around forever. It won't be. Especially if things continue. I get a sense that many are ambivalent about the site and many others think it's great. Regardless, it's not a constant. It needs to be assisted in surviving. Use the Amazon link to buy stuff. Little things. If you can, keep the Sewer around. It won't be around much longer if things continue as they have. That said, it'd be fun if we used this thread whenever we popped in to say hello. Each day. Whenever. Just pop a greeting to the rest of us. I'll do it. Hopefully you will. Just a chance to see the names, the avatars, get a better sense of who's active and around. It'd be fun if this became like the corner hangout again. So, Hello. I'm Nick and I'm still here.

Is it me you're looking for?

Nick, Nooj, charmed, I'm sure.

I'd better be charmed. And not in a Holly Combs kind of way.

Here. and Present.

My hand is raised, and I am not going anywhere.

Lionel Richie and a Charmed reference in the same thread? That's kind of perfect and why I'll always be reading CHUD.

Present and accounted for.

Been visiting the site for many years, will be here as long as possible.

Greetings, folks. Slowly trying to make sense of the new surroundings.

Been here for a while. Not going anywhere. Reading the site every morning in the train before work.

I've been mostly a lurker at this site for about ten years. I've seen its "voice" change several times and seen several prominent writers/personalities come and go. I cannot begin to describe how many different movies I've been made aware of because of Chud or the amazing(and some not amazing but it happens) threads I've read through on the forums throughout the years. I fully credit the site with making me a more well rounded movie goer and the political forum for making me far more politically aware about the world than I should be. This site needs to survive.

Well, I'm here. Hello, all!

Sorry to hear about the financial troubles, Nick. I'll hope for the best and remain committed to churning out my little Lost & Found contributions each week. I'd also be happy to step up and do more. Know that there's a passionate group of folks that love this place. I'm one of them.

Good luck with that. I still haven't!

Still here!

I'm still here Nick.  Everyday.  I don't post much, other than the Graboid, but I read alot.

Present, but I demand weekly community screenings of Uwe Boll films.

I am not browsing the forums like I used to, because frankly, I was doing too much of that at work.  I will always keep an eye on the site, though.  Also, the iPad now facilitates browsing while TV-watching.

NETWORK tonight at The Plaza.  All of you should be there.  Yes, even the out of towners.

Still here but just barely.

Been reading CHUD daily for years and years now. Won't be changing that anytime soon.

Hello. Been reading for 9 years and posting for 7. Hope things improve.
And it's good to see, or read, you Charlie. Been quite a few years.

Now Stew needs to come back. He was a great poster.

Still here, and staying.  Happy to see a couple new names around here today, too.

Hey thanks! Cockles: warmed.

Still here. Hello.

I really wish I'd have discovered these boards sooner than 2007/2008. Would be sad to see them go completely. I mean god knows it's more than a bit barren these days, but I still get some sort of discussion out of it which is more than I can say for damn near anywhere else on the web film-wise.

CHUD is my daily source for high quality discourse. I'm not going anywhere.

Where am I?

Si. Siempre.

Still here and still clicking away everyday.

Holly MARIE Combs. Please get it right. Sister of Jeffrey. Tangentially related to Geoffry Brush.

Hello!

When it works (which is almost always for me), the new boards are fantastic. Thanks.

I've been visiting this site daily now for years. Perennial lurker I'm afraid, but I can't tell you how much I enjoy the content - particularly Nick's Finding a Discipline column as well as the amazing insanity of the podcasts.

Live long and prosper... Jesis, did I really just type that?

Kia Ora from New Zealand. Went to Thor (3D) last night with my 11 year old nephew and my girlfriend. She enjoyed it more than we did. But she's got a massive crush on Natalie Portman. My girlfriend is awesome.

Hello. My name is Glenn. I check this site daily (usually at work, but often when not.) I don't usuallly post on boards. Any boards. Ever. (Well, this once.)

I am a Libra and I had bacon and fish fingers for tea with a side of mustard. Thank you.

Hey Nick/Others,

Long time lurker, very occasional commenter. Follow you on Twitter. Player of fantasy baseball (SinChoosChooChoo). I'm going to be around here more, though I really don't want to be picked on for not knowing as much about b type movies as the rest of the CHUD community. I appreciate the candor, and plan on paying for at least two people to see Don't Be Afraid of the Dark.

Hello, I was told there'd be punch and pie...

Hey all. I've been a loyal CHUD reader for more than a decade now. Not a frequent poster on the boards, just over 50 posts over the last five years. Still love the site. Still love the personalities, the genuine human voices behind the coverage. Love the podcasts -- have honestly cried in laughter at them. Hope to still being reading many years from now. Oh, and hope to one day be Inseminoid Approved.

New, but loooooong time reader.lurker.

These forums are what brought me here, and what keep me coming back. There are some smart and deep ass peeps on these boards. I learn something new here everyday, and will stay here till it dies.

Greetings from the UK

Been a fan of the site for a long time, I'm currently studying Digital Film and Video in London and I've got a ludicrous ambition to be a director. Anyway, thought I'd say hello and show some support as I'm familiar with the situation.

I'll do my best to bump up the numbers, like share links on the wall for people in my course and I guess I could send an email around my uni's film department.

Cheers

I'm here, watching. Always watching.

Hi, I'm Rene. I'm here. Every day. Check it in the morning, do FB likes and re-tweets. This is my #1 movie site, and I can't believe the immense negativity that's been occurring as of late. I hope that things clear up, because losing the site and the boards would be beyond devastating. I've made lots of friends on here, and The B-Action Thread is still filled with a lot of the same gents who were posting there when it first started, which was just before I joined the boards in '06.

Love this site, and wouldn't be writing The B-Movie Column with 2 of the most intelligent and good humored film fans I've ever known (along with the awesome guest writers that we've had) if not for this site, and the man who gave us the chance to do it, Nick Nunziata. You're the greatest.

I'm still here, also barely.

All up iiiiiiiiin iiiiiiit!

I've also been a reader of this site since near-inception (didn't Douglas Cheek or one of the writers of C.H.U.D. write one of your first articles?) thanks to Nick's IGN reviews.  For most of the last decade I read the shit out of this site and lurked the shit out of the forums.  Lately those days have been few and far between, but I am still an AVID listener of the podcast (Love me some Nunziata/Murphy/Waddell interplay) and fully intend to support this place during this unfortunate blip.  And it would be even easier to do so if you gave me a staff writer position....Nick?

Either way, I will try to make myself a whole lot less scarce.

Long (I mean...LONG) time reader. Been a Chewer for about a year. So hey. You have my sword.
