Real life horror story of the day...

Working here at the station, came across this story: Doctor Decapitated by Elevator.

It's exactly what one would think. A man was boarding a Texas hospital elevator when the doors closed on him, the elevator ascended and tore his head off. A woman inside the elevator witnessed the incident; she was trapped inside - with the head - for a good 15 to 20 minutes.

Christ, we've all seen this happen in horror films but never thought it could actually occur. The "accident" is under investigation.

Elevators are evil!!! You know I worked in a hospital for two years some time ago and one time a patient tried to get into the elevator. Problem was that he was an old man and walked really slowly. So the doors closed on his right hand and BROKE and BLOODIED it!

It doesn't quite compete with your story but it proves that all those demonic elevators we see in horror films have a basis in reality.

Better take the stairs. It's healthier ...

I was wondering the same thing. Either the doors were closing REALLY fast or the guy was REALLY slow.

If it was still on the air, they could've made a X-Files episode out of that ...

From what I saw on the news this morning, he was caught in the doors, which malfunctioned, and then as they tried to get the doors open, the elevator began to rise, and thats when his head came off.

It wasn't. His whole body was caught between the doors, almost bisected by them, but his head was on the inside.

same thing happened about 2 weeks ago in a hospital I worked at on a psych ward.
