VON TRIER TO TORTURE SCORSESE

Jesus, if this turns out anything like the original, it'll be a must for any fan of film.

Is the original version of The Perfect Human available to watch/rent anywhere?  I wanna watch The Five Obstructions, but would like to see the film they are remaking first.

Oh wow, oh man. Scorcese will do The Five Obstructions? This makes me hard.

Seriously, this is more exciting than The Hobbit starting filming. Holy shit, I can't wait.

Seriously, this is the most exciting news I've heard in ages, the first was an incredible insight to the mind of a real artist and filmmaker. I only wonder if Von Trier will have Scorsese remaking a work of his own, or if it'll be something new.

The talk a couple of years back was that they had discussed giving TAXI DRIVER the OBSTRUCTIONS treatment.

yeah, the reports last year were that the challenge was to both scorsese and deniro for taxi driver, i hope hope hope that's still the case.

I hope so.  I'm not sure I could handle what von Trier would come up with for The Big Shave.

If he's remaking Taxi Driver, does that mean he'd have to make an entire film each time? Or would it be a case of making the movie in five parts, each with a different obstruction? Or...

Anyway, this is awesome, and how much would I like to see this continued for a bunch of other directors? Get Von Trier to torture Michael Bay for a while, how amazing would that be?

That's what I'm wondering, too.

I'm hopeful it's the movie in five parts rather than five different versions of the movie. I know Scorsese is certainly game to challenge himself, and that's great, but remaking Taxi Driver completely with an annoyingly itchy stipulation sounds exhausting just once, let alone five times. I know von Trier has a reputation to push people, but I can't see him being that vicious since the guy takes scheduled nap times while shooting his movies now.

Also hopeful that this becomes kind of a regular thing for von Trier with different filmmakers. My dream choices would be Werner Herzog and Michael Hanake.
