A whole bunch of NEW IMAGES
I think what we're seeing in that image is the original form of the xenomorph. Notices the creature seems to be literally growing out of the man, coming from his right arm and a bit out of his leg. Also notice that a section of his ribcage seems to be missing, implying Adam's rib? The xeno seems to be dog like, or bowing or both. Realize also that "dog" is "god" spelled backwards. The brain recognizes both spellings and the link between the two, even if you're not consciously aware of it.
Shaw says 'theyre changing', and from that it looks like changing into the humanoid we see
But yeah, that's definitely enough spoilers for me.
See you in the post release discussion where we can wonder what the fuck we were thinking (hopefully)
I didn't say he was being absorbed/eaten, I said the xeno appears to be growing out of him, metaphorical of the xeno being a bio weapon created by that humanoid (SJ?).
my bad, I looked at the image on my phone and it looked like a crewmember being cocooned.
I've since looked at it on my laptop and .. wow, quite the image. And the thing that doesn't look humanoid does appear to have a spiky thing coming off it's elbow, much like the classic Alien.
EDIT: or could be a fella getting his liver pecked out.

I have a feeling those discussions are going to be an absolute riot.
New image released of the creature from Prometheus, showcasing its form prior to the evolution shown in Alien. There's already been an outcry from fanboys about the alterations to the dome because it didn't stick with the fundamental design they utilized in Alien.
well, I'd love to play the game but since I'm in one of the many, many countries outside the US I can't even do that.
Fuck you verizon. I can understand the competition needing to be limited to the US, but to lock down the whole fucking thing? Fuck you.
Those are the kinds of images I like, non-spoilery, but show you the level of detail Ridley has got on this thing.
Having spent the better part of yesterday evening watching the 'Making of Alien" goodies from the Blu-Ray Quadrilogy, I find myself wondering if Ridley went ahead and did with Prometheus what he originally wanted to do with the Nostromo: As it stood, most of the Nostromo was all one continuous set, but it was a single-story, fairly linear affair. Nevertheless it was something he could "coop the actors up in" to help generate tension. However his original plan had been to build a three-story set and have the actors have to actually climb up and down to various sections of the ship, but of course the budget wouldn't allow it.
I mean, I kinda doubt he'd be able to do it for Prometheus, either (especially since considerably more of the action in the film seems to take place outside the ship), but man it'd be awesome if he did, and certainly the pictures we're seeing are evoking the same level of detail that he demanded in Alien.
As one of the actors, or director, that must be a nightmare.
Two months plus of being asked the same questions over and over again.
Poor Ridley must already be pig sick of saying some iteration of 'none of the Alien films asked the question about the big guy in the chair'
As an interviewer it must be a nightmare to try and find something that hasn't been asked, but is still relevant.
That creeped me the fuck out, because I had an inmediate flashback to Kane's murder by smut mag attempt in the original alien.
Also, is it me, or the scenario of paranoia that your coworkers could be robots hasnt been used much in movies?

Twas a confusing situation. Yeah, I love how Ash gazes at the porn like he's been pondering all of this shit for a while. Maybe trying to see what the relationship is like between a human sucking a dick and a facehugger raping someone's mouth.
And then he got hit in the head and started spewing white goo all over the place...talk about subtext and stuff.
God, I'm luvvin' this!
"Don't you hate someone who takes head and never gives it?"
That was great! I love how when he's asked a question he just switches off until his programming cmes up with an answer. With a human they generally flick their eyes up to the top corner, as if they are visually searching their brain, but he just stops dead for a few seconds. Nice subtle tell.
And talk about creepy.
"I do things some crew members may find... distressing".
That's an incredibly professional looking website for an ARG tie in to a movie.
The website lists 63 offworld colonies.
When David 8's sensors detect rage or anger in the voices and expressions of his human counterparts, he can instantly simulate anger (akin to irritation) primarily for the purpose of expressing sympathy with that human’s emotional state. However, David himself will resist anger towards humans unless the display of that emotion is absolutely vital in reaching a pre-programmed goal.
Also, I'm wondering if Theron's character is another android, as has been much discussed, just because of the blonde hair. Stupid I know, but I can't get it out of my head.
I think it's mis-direction, myself...
