The fact that Argento's making of a Dracula movie, with the added psychosexual awkard awesomeness of his own daughter starring, is being rightly met with open derision and mockery is depressing.

I liked Mother of Tears in a bad movie kind of way.  Been thinking about re-watching it.

Absolutely on your Tomb of Dracula comment, but it needs a Game of Thrones HBO-type treatment, where the darker stuff is actually taken seriously.  Hey, True Blood can't run forever...

That would be sweet. My fancasting picks for the Marvel Drac: Mark Strong, Clive Owen and if skewing younger, Benedict Cumberbatch. (Dude is awesome in SHERLOCK and Danny Boyle's FRANKENSTIEN. Drac in the comic is supposed to be 30, but by todays standards he reads more as 40. But really the key to casting Dracula is presence, piercing eyes and a commanding voice.

 

Speaking of GAME OF THRONES, Sean Bean would make a good Drac with some hair dye.
