Well, it won't hurt his career any, but he can probably kiss the Palme D'or goodbye.  

Having said that, Von Trier is a performance artist; what the hell did they expect from him?  Decorum?  

Also, cannot friggin' wait to see Melancholia.  Even if it's only half as mindblowing as Antichrist, I'm excited.

Pretty stupid getting all angry about this if you know who von Trier is to begin with. I didn't even have to read/listen to the actual quotes. The headline was enough indication to me that he's just fucking around.

If anything, he came across really lame. He should have accused Fritz Lang of being a nazi. Obscure, yeah, but at least that would get the crowd frothing at the mouth because we all that would be a lie. Joke or no joke.
