The way the industry has sold 3D, they have themselves to blame if audiences (and certain bonehead directors) think it's good only for action and FX-heavy films. Premium ticket-pricing virtually guarantees we won't see small-scale, character-oriented releases along the lines of Miss Sadie Thompson or Inferno anytime soon. During the 1950s boom, studios committed to producing 3D films in all genres.
