WARNING: SENSUAL/SWEET

He sold her Caroline

He told her she was blind, but

Faces go blank when she enters the room

Her name was Caroline
She smiled and told me "hi", but

We all live in a world of snow

We all can strive to be just as blind

He unleashed Caroline

on an unsuspecting world, but

I'm aloof

I'm a fruit

WARNING: IN YOUR FACE AND BUTT ROCK

All are punchy, but my favorite is "World of Snow". There's an atypical (for Wizard's Keys, at least) sophistication to the main riff and the lyricism. Strong and consistently interesting.

We strive for punchy.

Get some album art from Brian Eno's 77 million paintings! They don't  have a copyright because it's generative art! Brian Eno said so himself!

These are all home runs. In fact they're all home runs with bases loaded and RBIs. That's what you guys say, right? I don't really understand your crazy foreign sports to be honest, but I'm right at home with these tunes.

Concentration Of Red is magnificent. Big beasts of riffs and that buzzsaw guitar tone and great vocals varying between melodic and roaring. So packed with brawn and sex and the eye of the T Rex. Not the dude, the thunder lizard.

And Glances On The Firing Line is like a pump action shotgun with a grenade launcher. A pump action grenade launcher. It also makes me want to fly an attack helicopter. I really love the forward charge of it, like it can't be stopped. This one is a real gem from start to finish, from top to bottom.

I love the feel and the lyrics on House Of Ill Repute. The whole thing is wonderfully wonky and somehow warm in spite of the air of unhinged menace in the lyrics. Also love the way this one is sung. And the melody. And how it's 90 seconds long so I want to hear it again as soon as it's finished.

That main riff on World Of Snow is so sweet too. The panned left and right rhythm gats are cool as shit in the headphones and the whole way the song hangs and swings on and around the beat in that groove. There's a beautiful feel to the playing in there.

I can listen to these four on repeat for an hour and not get bored with them. There are no flat spots in any of them - no parts where I think the arrangement could be changed to make them flow or rock better - they all work a treat in terms of momentum and groove. I also continue to love the raw and dangerous but focused tone of everything production-wise too. Maybe my favourite set of guitar sounds, both rhythm and lead. Probably my favourite set of vocal performances too.

Somehow I completely missed One Big Jar. Gotta admit I'm not as down with the electronic blippy bloops and I feel like the "This is what I care about" breakdowns lose momentum for me. I don't know what I'd change - and of course I don't expect you guys to change a thing - but it'd probably be not having the beat drop out to cymbal taps.

But they don't all have to float my boat though and I still like the vocal and general gat/bass/drum sound and the down a dirty riffs as much as the others. Speaking of which, I must have listened to those other four maybe twenty times over the last week and I'm not even close to rotating them out of my playlist. And they're so damn hooky, I'll find the chorus of Firing Line or the main riff from World Of Snow or "... house of ill repyoo-ooo--ooot" rolling through my brains hours after I've listened to them. There's really not a single thing I'd change about any of them.

Fuel Rod Girl (MP3 FILE)

Drums, Vocals, Solo #2 - NICK

Guitar, Bass, Solo #1, Backing Vocals - STEVE

WARNING: GREASY ASS TRUCK STATION ROCK

The sound is brown like a motor
drunk on miles and chewed up pavement
Sounds like gears are grinding on this ride to nowhere

She needs a lift, short skirt could use one too
She needs a lift or two and that's what I aim to do

I feel my gauge filling
Something's empty
Something's full
Mission: Accomplished

Fuel Rod Amazing. Is it basic? Yes, but it's basic great. I love the sound and the greasy vocals from N.

Yeah, I love the production/sound of the recent stuff. Song-wise this one is odd in that just as it lifts off with "MIssion: Accomplished" each time it cuts off like a big tease. A big, greasy tease. For me the chunky riffs make it a fun ride but it never quite feels like it pays off its promise like many of the other tracks. It feels like there's a potential there which is unearthed. The lyrics are some of my favourites though.

As always, thanks B. Your input is a rock and roll blessing.

Dead Come Rising (Pissed as Hell)
Nick - Drums/Vocals
Steve - Guitars/Bass/Backing

Energetic Meso-Americans
Back in the day
Did a sensual ritual
Fed a cow to the devil
Slapped a chicken so hard it clucked
It's a livin'
And now it's paying dividends

Dead they come rising
Pissed as Hell
Pissed as Hell
Hitting innocent people with hammers
Watching blood and bone making babies
Civilization's a lunchbox
Dead come rising
Pissed as Hell
Ripping innocent people to ribbons
Dead come rising
Modern Social Frisky Americans
Much earlier today
Watched a horde feeds its maw
sucked blood through a living face
Bit a skeleton so hard it squelched
It's a livin'
And now it's paying dividends
