First impressions on the game: this shit is fucking broken. Cannot progress more than two races before it crashes on the loading screen. Do they even send games to qa farms anymore?
Other impressions: Looks absolutely beautiful. Cars handle with some nice weight to them. The career mode looks to have a lot of meat on the bone. The menu interface isn't annoying compared to Dirt 2, which featured the awful music and pa announcer; instead you just choose where you want to go and you're there. The youtube integration works without issue. However, compared to Just Cause, you can only upload 30 second clips at a time. Game has some noob friendly features in the form of auto-cornering, auto-breaking, and auto-speed adjustments...you'll want to turn that off to appreciate the driving engine behind the game.
To clarify: Game crashes on the pc version of the game, that I nabbed from Steam. I have no idea if it's more stable on the Xbox/PS3 platform. Only after modifying the hardware configuration file to force the game into directx 9 mode resolved the stability issues, so directx 11 enjoyment is out of the picture for now (if ever again). The pc version on steam has Games for Windows Live implemented, which includes achievements....but it also has games for windows live integrated into it.
