Pretty much. The ONLY reason I'd want to see this is because I'm a total FX whore, and considering some of the stuff coming out today, I'm not sure I even care about that aspect. I'm pretty well covered on that front.

There is ZERO reason for an executive to be hell bent over making a live action Akira that will probably need to make $700 million to break even.

At some point, it must be some kind of irrational stubbornness that pushes these iffy projects ahead.  "YOU CAN'T TELL ME WHAT TO DO!!!  AKIRA IS HAPPENING EVEN IF IT FAILS!!!!"

An American live action version of Akira is just stupid. I don't understand any studio or filmmaker who thinks its a good idea at all.
