White Collar Season 3

Thread Starter

Well just as I was thinking my television was going to get a rest, White Collar season 3 is starting Tuesday June 7th.

Can't wait to see Neal and Peter back again.

Yeah, that Bomer guy is one charming son of a bitch. Burn Notice had a bit of an off season so this became my favorite USA show.

Was unsure this was coming back, but saw from a friend's facebook posting the other day that they had a crew softball team.  Always happy to see a NY production get another season, especially with L&O and Rubicon getting the axe, and Fringe being moved out west.

Eliza Dushku is tweeting photos on the set of white collar.. Hope she becomes a regular!

This is one of those shows that I always saw commercials and thought looked entertaining enough but just never got around to watching. Finally one of my friends kept telling me I had to start watching it and loaned me her season one box set(now seen the second season too). After a little bit of a slow start I really enjoy it now. The interplay between to Neal and Burke is just great. My only complaint is that they occassionally(first season finale first and then off an on all second season)try to tell you that by this point they really trust each other completely and yet both characters still seem somewhat artificially suspicious of each other at random points when it's convienent to the plot. Just seems like they need to pick a side and stick with it. Its not like if they really trust each other then the show would end, bad guys would still be doing bad things and the dynamic wouldnt change by blaming Neal for something every third episode. Maybe thats something that I only really stands out when watching all the episodes in a small amount of time though so I look forward to seeing how season three turns out having some more time between them.

So Neal and Mozzy were really going to leave eh.. best part of the night was Peter keeping Neal's tie.

Looks like this season is all going to be about Niel trying to figure out a way to escape with the art and Peter trying to catch Niel in a "gotcha" sting.  Could make for some interesting drama, since we've had 2 seasons of Neil/Peter bromance and now they're somewhat enemies again.

I gotta say I really liked the treasure hunting episode last night with real life brothers Danny and Chris Masterson. Incorporating Peter's dog into a scam was brilliant!

Yeah, it was a good episode.  Lots of DaVinci Code like stuff, lol.  I think Neil and Peter are at their best when there are crazy mysteries they have to solve.

Oh, and having Mozzy playing a blind man is always a win. "I like the concept of stars."  ha ha ha.

Definitely a fun romp. I love how just completely over the top the mystery was, 'Hey sons! I want you to bust into the museum and destroy a precious book!'. Makes me want to see some of the brothers' childhood adventures.

They did give Neal the art list info a little quick. Was hoping there'd be some dangerous cat and mouse going on, with them not knowing how Peter figured out, but having to elude capture in some clever way.

Regardless, great to have the show back. I need to watch something in the summer, dammit.

Well, they did end the episode with Neil not being able to contact Mozzy about stopping the sale.  My guess is that the sale goes through, it shows up on Peter's radar, and now it's cat-and-mouse between Neil and Peter while they still have to work together.

Could be really interesting to see how this develops.

well they completely overwhelmed Diana last night, but I enjoyed the episode. The pharmaceutical storyline was right on the money (except for the murder part). Overall though it looks like Peter is one step ahead of Neal when it comes to the manifest.

True, Peter does seem to be on top of things when it comes to the manifest, but honestly, this was kinda silly.  I mean, while Diana was undercover, Mozzy couldn't break into her apartment and look at the manifest?  Its like they didn't even try to get it.

Mozz backstory was kind of cute. Loved the Bueller bit too. Was it too much Mozz? Probably. He was annoying as ever, but scenes where he's interacting with Mrs.Suit is the good stuff.

Yeah.  His whole "staying under the radar of the man" thing seems to have gone out the window, lol.  I like Mozz better when he pops up as the uber-paranoid master criminal.  I don't really want to know much about him.

I was honestly surprised at how on-the-nose the con was in this episode.  I mean, it was taken directly from The Sting with very little adjustment.  I was half expecting the mark to go like "C'mon you moron, I've seen the movie too."  lol.

Also, the great tension that's been building between Peter and Neil was seriously lacking in this episode.

True Blood's Joe Manganiello to guest later this season.    Alcide and Matt Bomer on the same show.  My brain cannot handle that much sexy.

The infant Mozzie, complete with Mozzie glasses, was hilarious and adorable.

This episode gets low marks from me for its criminal underuse of Ernie Hudson. You don't tell me he's in the episode and then make me wait until the ending to see the man, the myth, the legend in person!

Yeah, baby Mozzie wearing glasses was cute.  The whole Ernie Hudson thing was weird.  I mean, unless he's going to be a recurring guest star or something, I can't see why they'd was such little screen time with him.

This episode was pretty good.  Any time Peter has to act like a ladies man is always enjoyable.  Though the tension of the Neil/Peter cat-and-mouse game was very absent in this episode.

We're probably only going to get glimpses of the Nazi Treasure stuff until the last few episodes.

There really needs to be a bad guy who comes in and is hunting for the treasure as well, so Neil isn't just playing against Peter, and has a possible scapegoat if things go south and Peter starts closing in on the stash.  I just like Peter and Neil together as a team too much to have them at odds with each other.

I thoroughly enjoyed this black widow episode. Best of the season so far, IMO. After the basic instinct homage, I thought for sure we'd get a nude art rendering a'la Titanic.  I guess we can't get everything we want..

I've been playing catch-up since I've missed every episode this season, and I'm really digging it so far.  It cannot be said enough just how good men look in well-tailored suits.  That overhead shot of Neal walking into the museum during the Phoebe Cates job in the first episode was the stuff of dreams.  Jesus, that guy is a babe.

Yeah, in fact they had to make it a point to have Neil sabotage his chances at the speed dating event just in case the black widow "outbid" by all the other women.  lol.

Damn you Matt Boemer and your Greek-God like good looks!

This whole episode had me grinning from ear to ear. My only complaint: I wanted to see Jones' date! I was hoping he'd charm the pants off his ladyfriend. We need a Jones episode and we need it now.

Aah, this show. Love it.

This may be the closest we get to a Jones/Neil pick-up contest, lol.  I'd like to see more Jones undercover work in the future.

Jones had another lady hit him up in last night's episode.  Another cool one with Neil's girlfriend along for the ride.  I also like Hutch Dano as the kid (he's from Disney XD's Zeke and Luther) and nice to see him breaking from Disney's kiddie grasp.

So glad that this show has moved away from the Kate nonsense.  There's a tangible difference in the show and my enjoyment of it.  The back-and-forth over the manifest is going to get tired fast unless they've got something nuts planned for it, though.  Also, this has got to be the best-dressed cast on TV.  Neal's always looking sharp, and goddamn do I want to go shopping with his girlfriend.

ETA: Apparently, there was enough of a revolt against the new title sequence that the show put it to a vote with the fans online.  Old sequence won.

Thank God the new title sequence is awful.

Oh, so glad to hear about the title sequence. I get what they were going for, but it's bad and the music sucks. Original title sequence, for all of its blandness, is infinitely more appealing and gripping.

Of all the names, huh, Vic Moreau. You will never escape Kate, Neal! Never!

Very glad Insurance Investigator Barbie will be (so it seems) getting more time. There's a lot of dude going on in the show, despite the work from Diana and Thiessen and it's good to have someone who can get underneath Neal's armor every now and then. And damn, was she looking fiiiiiine in that obnoxiously shiny boustiere thing.

Hope young Neal comes back and...White Collar 2! Jones and the new kid team up and solve mysteries. Yeah...that'd be nice.

Liked the "Hackers" themed episode and loved the Moz made a new friend. Wondering how this whole treasure thing is going to shake down now that Neal's girlfriend knows what's going on.

Any Lena Headey is good Lena Headey. Love how Neal's slowly growing more attached to Sarah may be his undoing. The callback to the first scene, where Neal read the password off the reflection, was very nice and clever, I thought.

The shopping scenes had the girlfriend giddy. Have to admit, I was smiling, too. Another fun episode that had this storm slowly hanging over it.

Neal and Mozzie were incredibly sloppy tonight.  It was like they were begging Sarah to find out about the treasure.  It'll be interesting to see if she rats him out to Peter.

Thank goodness the old title sequence is back.

Yes.  Long live the old title sequence!  lol.

I was surprised at how sloppy Niel and Mozzy were in this episode.  Just goes to show Niel has too many secrets to let someone in, though this could be a big game changer for the season.

Lena Headey looked amazingly hot in this episode.  Why can't she look that good in Game of Thrones?  :-)

Next episode looks like it has a lot to do with Jones.  Maybe we'll get to see more of him soon.  Though I was surprised he was all Mr. Computer Science in this episode.  I don't recall him ever being that into computers before.

good to see Jones get his episode.. sad to see him go back to the van. At least we know he can bring the pain when the a muscle is needed.

Actually loved the Neal plot and was kind of shocked he would lie to Mozzy. Looks like next week's episode is going to expose the whole treasure and should be fun to see Eliza Dushku.

Yeah, the fight Jones had was pretty kick ass.  If they could just have him fighting dudes and trying to pick up women with his overblown bravado constantly, I think I'd enjoy his character a lot more.  His talk with Neil was actually pretty great too.  "You have to give up something you want, for something you want more."  Pretty profound there, White Collar.  lol.

Neil is definitely in an odd position now.  He does like the life he's created for himself with the FBI and Sarah.  But then again, he does have those criminal instincts that keep driving him.  I guess he could always change his mind later since he now has the manifest.  One of the things I like about this show is they never have Neil or Peter come off like complete buffoons.  Just when you think one of them has outsmarted the other, the other pops up and turns the tables.  Neil recording Peter's conversation and having Mozzy read his lips was really awesome.  Lot of good cat-and-mouse between Peter and Neil, which is kind of how their relationship has always been I guess.

Eliza Dushku's character was kind of weak, but the rest of last night's episode was ACES. Loved Mozzie's attempt to put a hit out on Keller and the implications of selling the artwork to do so.

Yeah, Mozzy was pretty bad ass when he put that hit out.  Though its really Neil's fault for lying to him.  And Dushku's character was all over the place.  She's a nerdy antiques scholar, no she's a fence!  No, she's actually an assassin!  Huh?  lol.  Well, whatever, it was still fun.

I was hoping Keller would get killed off.  I really don't like that actor.  His accent as the interpol agent was horrible.

Yeah, the guy playing Keller gets on my nerves. And not in a good way.

I think the actor's a Brit, so that accent was probably real.

I thought Mozzie was incredibly hardcore there at the end.  Maybe the "Dentist of Detroit" deserves his reputation.  It actually made me wonder if they might have him turn on Neal in the next run of episodes, and how scary a threat he could be if he were really pissed off.

You want to see him pissed off?  Hurt Elizabeth.  He's legitimately fond of her.

You know Neal would be there for Elizabeth, but holy hell I can't wait to see Peter whoop some ass.  The whole scene from the cell phone call in the car to Peter's tunnel vision of his house swarmed with FBIs just worked. Awesome cliffhanger.

White Collar is back Tuesday. Can't wait.

I have missed drooling over Matt Bomer's hotness and Hilarie Burton's wardrobe.

Agreed on both counts, Harley.

What, Bomer's a good looking man. I can appreciate a good looking man. He fights NPH for 'Best Suit'.

Can't wait for tonight.

Solid return episode.  Mozzie being so worried for Mrs. Suit was adorable.  Elizabeth's escape was way too easy.  Any self-respecting criminal would've been screaming at her to sit down the second she stood up to go for the thermostat.  I had to roll my eyes at that one.  I felt like Peter wasn't freaked out enough, but I figure he knew that her life depended on him staying calm.  Neal looked 100% fuckable, as always.

I hope that anklet comes off, but I doubt it'll come easy.

I think the anklet (or the various pens and watches and whatnot) has been a crutch to generate false drama, and I'd like to believe that the writers know it. I'll be glad when it's gone, if only because it will make for a welcome change to the formula of the show.

I kind of hate how they wrapped things up in one episode. I almost wished the kidnapping/treasure heist would have stretched over another ep or 2. Still it's nice to see the show back in gear and loved the anket removal  possibility.

The Burke 4! I do love me some super-hero/super-villain team up. I love Keller's attitude to the whole thing; I got the ace, so I'm gonna be a casual dick about things. Love it. So glad to have this show back. Now let me some of that Hilarie Burton sweetness already.
