Nip Tuck - is it worth watching?

Hi there. I am a major TV fan, I watched every possible episode from every sitcom or television show that fit my gender. But since the shows came to a break i need something new to watch. Up until now, i was watching 30Rock, Criminal Minds, Fringe - even though i think the actress is horrible, Outsourced, Community, How I meet your mother, Modern family, raising hope, house, and so on. I am left without television shows to watch, so I thought on giving Nip Tuck a chance. The first episodes seem ok but I am afraid it might get full of drama, and lesser funny scenes. What do you think?

No. Doesn't fit your gender.

It actually does have a very good first season. The rest, not so much. I ditched it around the 3rd, when it became full-on soap opera.

That was what I was afraid of. There have been many television shows I lost my time with. For example Heroes.

Anyways, What TV-show would you recommend then?

Breaking Bad, The Shield, The Wire, Game Of Thrones, Mad Men, It's Always Sunny In Philadelphia, Terriers, Carnivale, Justified, Luther, Sherlock, Supernatural, Louie....

That seems to be what he's saying but doesn't make sense, Nip/Tuck ended its run last year.

just about anything from FX (except NipTuck and Damages) or HBO

Trailer Park Boys

I suggest getting acquainted with the greatest television series of all time, The Wire

I was OBSESSED with this show during the first couple of seasons.  It was absurd, but in a fun, interesting way, and the characters were all great to watch.  Then it stopped being absurd fun and became plain ol' absurd.  Season 1 and 2 are solid, great TV.  Everything after that is a mixed bag.

Friday Night Lights

I watched the show just so I could find out the identity of a certain masked-villain (trying to avoid spoilers here). I'd say give it a go until the end of the third season. The series finale of this show is just a limp dick of massive proportions.

Going back to shows you most certainly SHOULD watch, there's only I can recommend 100%. See, I have many different ways of judging/gauging shows, and one of the more annoying trends I've discovered in re-watching some of my favorites is just how many bad or just plain AWFUL episodes I have to sit through, or how sub-plot/minor character's terrible B-story detracts from the goodness of an episode (Dexter, 24, etc...). So, you see my friend, in terms of good episode/bad episode ratio, I can't recommend BREAKING BAD enough. Someone once said it was like a Cohen Brothers movie stretched out to tv format, which is very accurate. If there's any show that plays wonderfully when watched back to back to back, its that one.

I stuck with N/T from start to finish & I don't know why because it's basically a show about a group of highly unlikeable, despicable narcissists. The show is kinda like Arby's: it's not very tasty or healthy & you often ask yourself mid-sandwich wtf you're doing eating there but, dammit, you alway go back for seconds simply because it's there.

Point being, there are better shows to waste hours of your life with.

Thank you for your replies. I will try BREAKING BAD. :D I have the feeling it's quite good since someone that likes Carlin recommend it to me - Syd - thank you. I hope I will like it. Speaking of a show that I saw 3 times now - have you seen Boston Legal? :D Ohh, and I saw every The Simpsons episode at least 13 times :D

Can someone recommend a TV show that goes well with this list:

Faulty Towers

Green Wing

The Vicar of Dibly

and Smack the Pony

:D

Oh, and one thing about Breaking Bad: watch the first three episode back-to-back-to-back, if you have the time. The whole series is good, but those first three are like a really good mini-arc, and afterwards you'll feel like you just watched a fantastic movie.

Since you  seem to like comedies - best current comedies are Parks and Rec & Its always sunny in philedalphia.

Breaking Bad is a dramatic series. Has some dark humor but Nip/Tuck is more comedic.

With that said Nip/Tuck's pretty terrible. Did watch the 2nd to last season (?), the one with a cleavage bearing Katee Sackhoff in every other ep.

Cop Rock.

Nip/Tuck was the ultimate car wreck. The shows gets progressively worse as the seasons wore on. It was oh, so bad!! And yet, I kept watching it till the end. I sorta felt the same way about 24.
