Russell Crowe defends FORESKIN

Russell Crowe has earned the wrath of many believers by tweeting that religious circumcision is a pointless act of barbarism:

 

Crowe: "Circumcision is barbaric and stupid. Who are you to correct nature? Is it real that GOD requires a donation of foreskin? Babies are perfect. I will always stand for the perfection of babies, I will always believe in God, not man's interpretation of what God requires. If you feel it is your right to cut things off your babies please unfollow and f*ck off, I'll take attentive parenting over barbarism."

 

He later deleted his comments and said he respects every nationality yadda yadda. It's obviously a good thing if the baby has phimosis, but otherwise? What's your stance on cutting the dick flesh? Should babies dicks be skinned for religious beliefs?

Because of the Aids epidemic in Africa, there has been a lot of research removal of the male foreskin inhibited the spread of STDs. It been proven that Most STDs inter the male from the female through the foreskin, nor does the removal of the foreskin affect male performance. Female circumcision is a pointless act of barbarism. Male circumcision is not pointless or barbaric.

I bet cutting off the whole dick would help us get rid of all STDs.  Male circumcision is pointless and barbaric. Any women supporting it should be asked if they would like to have their clitoral hood removed. As usual people are jumping through hoops trying to justify ancient, religious bullshit.

I think Rustys got some pretty whacky and out-there ideas a lot of the time - this isn't one of them.

Just was digging through the religion forum this afternoon while searching for a thread to post another story about the evils of religion, and saw this. I love that Crowe is unafraid to speak his mind, and that he refuses to treat religious tradition as a sacred cow. If you're born to certain religions, you get no say in having your body mutilated, and no one is supposed to question that? He may have been in some lackluster films these past few years, but he's still fearless
