Before Russell Crowe was a famous actor, he headlined an Australian boy band.

 

Their hit song was "I Wanna Be Like Marlon Brando."

I thoroughly approve of this news. Crowe is just perfect for the way I've always envisioned Jor-El, in that Brando-mode.

Bloody fantastic casting. No doubt Kal-El's pod will contain an astro cassette of Jor-El's band along with a note reading "Here is the last son of Krypton - do NOT circumcise".

I lke it as well. One thing about Crowe is that he is usually passionate about the roles he's in. The guy gives 100% in almost everything he's in, when many A-listers would sleepwalk through it.
