JAMES MANGOLD, WOULD YOU LIKE TO DIRECT THE WOLVERINE?

Not a name to get me caring about this, I'll be honest - but then, outside of Aronofsky, there simply aren't that many names that could.

Really, maybe I'm the only one, but I have to ask: does Christopher McQuarrie want to direct again? Because I would have rather had him behind the camera than most of the other guys on the wishlist (and this report says Mangold beat out Gavin O'Connor and Antoine Fuqua- SNOOOOORE).

James Mangold? Oh, for Pete's sake...

My initial reaction: Huh?

But honestly, the studio is absolutely going to give him an action supervisor/coordinator to handle the boom kablow pow, so fine. 

Yeah... Whatever. I think Mangold has made very good movies. But nothing in his filmography suggests that this won't be anything besides an efficient summer movie. I suppose that's good enough. But this had the potential to be really interesting.

Mangold has made some good movies. That being said his last film was Knight and Day and shit was that forgettable.

Wolverine needs some style and an edge. I had no hope for this once Aronofsky went.

Drew McWeeny makes a good point when he mentions if Tokyo is a good location for Wolverine. I'd stay well clear of there if I was the production.

It is not rocket science.  James Mangold is not a bad director.  Not like...Darren Aronofsky or Edgar Wright!  Just have Wolverine...Meet Mariko Yashida, Fight several Ninja of her Father Lord Shingen Yashida, and also meet...The Silver Samurai! Samurai switches between a friend and enemy of Logan's!  If, The Wolverine...Claws its way to the top of the box office, set Wolverine 3 in...Madripoor!  

Is anyone going to watch...G4's Wolverine Anime, beginning in July?  It involves Logan in Japan.  The story is based on the...Chris Claremont/Frank Miller storyline of Wolverine vs Lord Shingen, several ninja and more!

I'm not surprised by this.  As soon as I saw Mangold's name on the list of potentials, I knew that Hugh would pick him.

As for Chris McQuarrie?  He's directing/writing the Jack Reacher film that Tom Cruise is circling, One Shot.  It seems I'm the only one who remembered that part of the article while everyone else checked out after they saw Cruise's name.
