Not sure what took so long, but it finally dawned on me that there's no such thing as bad Herzog news. I can't think of many other filmmakers that I would say that about. As a huge fan of those Lockup programs on CNBC, I'm very eager to see what he does with this kind of thing.

For myself, I think that's part of where his charm lies. He's a very, almost supernaturally raw and naked artist. He seems to demand that from his subjects, as well. He wants to hear from them the things they might not even say to their closest family. And, like you said, when he starts getting the 'same old stuff', he takes charge of the narrative himself.
