NICOLAS WINDING REFRN SAYS HEY, PICTURE CHRISTINA HENDRICKS AS WONDER WOMAN

And every male spontaneously combusts

I spontaneously yawn. I like Refrn, but Hendricks is so completely wrong for Wonder Woman. I'm sure she's a fine actress, but physically she's all wrong for it.

What? NO.

Hendricks is great but no.

You negative nellies are just awful awful people.

Refn. Hendricks. A quadrilogy. Have scenes where WW fights identical clones of herself. Multiple costumes. Some old British character actor spouting exposition. Pop music. Hendricks. Someone mentions Oa. Massive battle scenes. Hendricks.

PLEASE MAKE THIS BE TO HAPPEN FOR YES NOW I WOULD LIKE THIS.

If the director of the Pusher Trilogy and Bronson wants to make a Wonder Woman, just let him do what he wants, at least it will be interesting. You can't say that about most superhero movies.

She's too old, and giant tits aside if you take away the red hair she wouldn't be as boner inducing.  And Wonder Woman doesn't have red hair.

Mike Shayne, enemy of boners everywhere.

Her hair is the wrong colour and her breasts are too big. Also, I've never seen "Mad Men", so I don't know much about her acting ability. She was good on "Firefly".

I imagine you guys saying this while flashing a laser pointer at Hendricks like you're Lorenzo Lamas on the classy hit ABC series "Are You Hot?"

Man, if there were only a way to change the colour of a person's hair. Scientists should get on that.

I don't think Hendricks could do WW while MAD MEN is still on the air, as she'd need to get into serious shape for the role. That would kind of fuck with her Monroe figure. She'd have to pull some serious Christian Bale MACHINIST-to-BATMAN shenanigans.

After seeing a pirated copy of the rejetcted Wonder Woman pilot I do not want to see anyone make a Wonder Woman related product ever again.

The whole thing? Or just the few seconds they released earlier?

I could see...Christina Hendricks as another...Amazon!  Wonder Woman would have to be a bit younger, than 36.

I saw the whole thing, or as much as I could stand to watch. It was honestly one of the worst things I have ever seen produced by professionals. The person playing Wonder Woman was porn star level bad and she dragged everyone down with her in every scene. It was very rightfully rejected.

Interesting. Maybe one day they'll show this along with that failed Aquaman pilot as a Double Feature.

How was the Costume? I think all of us are a little curious on what this was like.

Yes. Christina Hendricks. Breasts.

You guys are aware she can actually act, right? And damn well at that? Anyway, I don't see her as Wonder Woman per se, but that's because I'm still convinced WW"s best non-comics outing was the recent, awesome animated DTV from Bruce Timm and company. I don't need a live-action Wonder Woman at this point.

Yeah, that was aces. Of all the direct-to-DVD DC features produced by Timm, that was my favourite. I loved Nathan Fillion's performance and the way his character and Wonder Woman interacted. Alfred Molina played a terrific comic book villain (again) and the dialog was just wonderfully written. I think it was even theatrical release worthy.

Was that the one with the shitty costume pics and script BS floating around a month or 2 back? That looked horrendous.

And the director of BRONSON and Hendricks can do whatever they want as far as I'm concerned. Especially if it involves copious amounts of cleavage, right for the part or no.

This man speaks for me.

I love Christina and all, but the traditional costume would look ridiculous on her. Can you imagine this running down a crowded street in that garb?

christina-hendricks-5.jpg

Curves are good, but no...not the best match for Wonder Woman.

Edit: Before a picture sharing war erupts, yes, I know this is not the best picture of her, but I just wanted to illustrate how her natural shape might not be best suited for the part.

au contraire...

Have you seen Diane lately? The Amazon has become rather, um, amazonian.

Yes, it was that. The costume looked even stupider in motion. But as bad as the costume was, it was the least of the thing's problems.

Sooooo glad they didn't get a successful launch with that nonsense. I was shocked how dumb it all sounded. Thought it was all a done deal.

Her breasts are too big? Has this thread gone through some slice in time and come from some type of bizarro world?

Of all the names bandied about, her's is the only one that has made me think "Yeah, I'm interested in a Wonder Woman movie." I'm not a fan of Mad Men at all, but Hamm and Hendricks both have earned the accolades that have been heaped upon them from being on the show.

Aquaman pilot is on the Justice League: Crisis on Two Earths blu-ray (along with the Lynda Carter Wonder Woman pilot).

Seb, any legal concerns with reviewing that for the main page? Because you should review the shit out of it if you're able.

I'd actually like to see how horrible the Wonder Woman pilot is. So much shit actually makes it onto tv, (Jersey Shore, 16 And Pregnant, other stupid shit.) that this must have been pretty terrible. Then again, I'd watch a shitty Wonder Woman pilot or actual tv series over any of that other crap I mentioned above.

Quoted for truth and I agree about the director of Bronson and Hendricks who am I to oppose this. Best idea I have heard yet.

Oh and she said she would love to btw http://marquee.blogs.cnn.com/2010/12/23/christina-hendricks-id-love-to-play-wonder-woman/

Are big breasts seriously that much of a deal-breaker? I'm not a follower of the series but from what I've seen, Wonder-Woman's always looked pretty Woman-y.

Isn't Wonder Woman meant to be an amazon or something? I would have expected someone athletic looking. Like a decathlete?

I'm fine with this choice, more than fine in fact.  But then again I am a fan of hot women.

She would have to get really toned for WW and thus lose her squishyness so whats the point?

What and look like she did back in the Firefly days?

christinahendricks-firefly01-059.jpg

...oh the horror!

She looks really toned there! A pic of her from the shoulders up doesn't really bolster your case. She looks the same in current pics....

Rhona Mitra is your perfect WW and she already does actionrhona-mitra.jpg

Well she's not Nicholas Winding Refns apparently.

Is it so much to ask that Wonder Woman be Greek, or at least olive skinned? Exotic looking? They already messed up the Elektra with white bread American.

Oh yes and BIG TITS BREASTS ARE HUGE I WANNA SQUEEZE 'EM..............MAMA.

There's "womany" and then there's "every action scene is either a comedy or soft porn or both".

Many actresses get implants to improve their chances of getting roles. It seems likely Hendricks inadvertently did the opposite.

Rhona Mitra would be excellent, if likely already too old for the studio to approve. But really, w/o a script that somehow makes WW cool again, it's all moot.

Rhona Mitra, the woman who's got around 50 minutes of good acting on her entire CV, would be excellent? Priorities, guys.

Just check her out in Christopher Lambert's BEOWULF.

Smoky foreign accent? Check.

Huge Racks? (Very Important) Check.

God, am I the only person who thinks Rhona Mitra can't act?!

EDIT: and Andrew

How about Tina Fey? She's Greek, she can act and she's marketable.

And me.  Her best role was when she was the Edios "live action" Lara Croft girl.

It's the man who's done a series of pitch-black crime films, an art movie that makes you kind of love a violence addicted Tom Hardy, and the world's bleakest acid-drenched Viking movie possible. Refrn's the type of guy I'd actually LOVE to see do a superhero movie, even more so when it's a character who is so under-loved anyway.

If he wants Hendricks? I'd be in..hell and that's without adding in all my sick and twisted curvy redhead fantasies into the pile.
