True Blood Season 4 - Page 2

This was a good episode.  Anyone else think it was the doll who wrote "Not your son" on the wall and not the demon baby?  There's some crazy stuff going on there.

What the hell did that witch do to Pam?  That was bananas!  No wonder vampires are scared shitless of necromancers.

I'm getting kinda bored with the Amnesia Eric story.  Hope it wraps up soon.

The idea that Bill banged his great, great, great, great, great grand-daughter was hilarious.  It's interesting to know that Bill is one of the patriarchs of the Balfleur family, lol.  I'm sure Bill knows Sookie is hiding Eric, but he didn't want to make Sookie any more angry with him.

Thank god Jason finally escaped the werepanther gang rape.  That was getting pretty old.

I'll admit, I enjoyed the new episode quite a bit. Any time the vampires get knocked down a few pegs makes me happy. For being so infinitely shitty, the show in general has been too forgiving of them. Seriously, is there any mythical creature out there that hasn't been fucked by them? I'm just waiting for next season when they reveal that they hunted sasquatches for sport. If the witch coven bitch slaps them all season, I'll be just fine with that.

I'm wondering if the doll is a Childs Play take with it being possessed with the soul of Rene.

This is a really incesty season so far.

Other than Bill getting it on with his five-times removed granddaughter, what other incest has there been?  I mean, the werepanther clan seems full of incest but we haven't actually seen any there.

I'm sorry. I didn't know you had to see the incest for it to count.

I think "brother-cousin" is enough.

Screenshot or it didn't happen.  lol

Just when this show almost makes Tara a bearable character, she resorts right back to her screeching, screaming, trembly-mouth self.  Her reaction to Eric is completely justified, don't get me wrong, but either give her something of substance to do or just kill her already.  This show is packed with people as it is.  Time for some blood-letting.  Having said that, this episode was pretty good.  Glad to see the Mickens bite it.  Relieved to not see Hotshot at all this episode.  Portia's argument to fuck her great-great-great-great grandfather was hilarious.  The Jason/Jessica/Hoyt dream was HILARIOUS.

So Bill's gonna walk in on Eric and Sookie fucking next week, I imagine.  Oh Bill, ever the cockblock.

Bill can't just barge in, can he?  Or does the fact that another vampire owns the house allow him to do that?

Yeah, Tara is just dead weight at this point.  She has no real reason to be in the show.  Seeing her mom again as a "proper preacher's wife" was pretty funny though.

Tommy killing mom and dad - about time.  God, those were horrible characters.

Jason's bit about God punishing him because he's had too much sex with hot women was really funny.  And the dream sequence later on was classic.  His last line "Good Gravy" had me lol.  He's right though, everything bad that's ever happened to him had to do with sex.  There's gonna be some wierd shit going down between Jason, Hoyte, and Jessica.

The reveal of the Vampire priests was pretty cool.  Kinda sets up the witches to actually be "good guys" in a weird, twisted sense.  The part where Sookie goes to the witch emporium and hears her gran while she's reading that woman's mind was really cool too.  At some point, that woman is going to learn how to harness her power, and then she's gonna be a real danger.

The Alcide subplot has officially begun.  Looks like he's going to have issues with the local pack leader.

I liked Bill's use of Glamor this episode.  First his use of it on Portia, then to interrogate his captive witch.  I also liked his speech about how vampires infiltrate society - "Google and Fox News," lol.  And poor Pam, she's really fucked up.

Great episode though.  Was a lot of fun.

Eric owning the house means anyone can walk right in.  That's how Pam got in after Sookie called her a few eps back.

Alright, so I know this show has always been shitty, and I've just watched it out of the corner of my eye as my wife watches but...seriously?

There could have been something I missed, but did Sookie just take advantage of someone with amnesia for sexual purposes? Imagine if Eric was anyone but a vampire, and how twisted that is.

Umm they've been hanging out post-amnesia for a while.

It has been a pretty campy season, but watching Jason beg Sookie to shoot him if he turned cracked me up.   I know I am being repetitive and pedantic, but Tara needs to die.

Hanging out is a bit different than fucking, as anyone who has ever been around a mentally disturbed person might tell you. And as far as, "awhile," hasn't this entire season been like one week?

Thread Starter

It looks like Tara is headed down the "Vampire Killer" path with her association with the witch and her hatred of vamps.  So maybe they'll make her interesting/relevent soon.

Demon baby burns down a house and goes outside to watch it burn.  lol.  That's kinda an interesting development.

Tommy becoming a skinchanger and morphing into Sam.  That's interesting.  I thought skinchangers could only change into the people they killed?  Looks like there are some major consequences for changing into another human.

As always, Jason was hilarious.  His obliviousness about morphing out of the handcuffs was classic.  And him and Jessica getting all "sexual tension" in the woods was pretty good.  Gonna be some fireworks with Hoyt soon.

I really hope Andy stops being such a dick.  I liked him better when he was trying to be a competent police officer instead of a drug addicted douchebag.

LaFayette getting possessed... yawn.

Alceyde joing a new pack... yawn.

Bill sparing Eric's life because he's "changed"... yawn.

Sookie and Eric finally sexing it up... meh.

I liked the rise of the Necromancer witch and her taking over that priest who raped her back during the inquisition was pretty cool.  Looking forward to seeing how that develops.

There are SO MANY plot threads going on in this show now, lol.  Its still pretty entertaining though.

I cant help but enjoy your eternal optimism regarding this show Simon, watching you put a positive spin on this crap fest is the most enjoyable part of this season.

I believe 2 weeks ago I asked, what's next, an evil twin? Sho nuff. So now we just need someone in a coma as a cliff hanger and we will have hit for the cycle of daytime soap cliches as plot device.

This episode bored the fuck out of me. Tara and her girlfriend don't give off any chemistry at all. And I'm a guy that's all down for two attractive women making out with each other. I really believe the whole demon baby subplot was done just to make the audience laugh. Didn't care much about Andy. They made him pathetic again for no reason. Didn't care about Alcide. Everything with Sam and his brother this episode was nothing that hasn't been written before and so very obvious when anything happened. It would have been nice, for once, if Sam actually caught his brother instead of dragging it out further into the season. Lafayette and his man were funny. I did actually like the grandfather knowing more about what's going on than them and calling them idiots. Jason and Sookie are the dumbest fucking siblings on any show right now. Lastly, Sookie wanting Erik is really gross to me. It's like she's going after him now only because he's mentally handicapped. WTF is that?!

The Eric/Sookie sex scene was awkward as fuck, especially when she'd just said a few minutes before how the mosquitos were eating her alive out there while she was looking for Jason.  I couldn't think, "Oh, how nice" when I'm thinking about how she's probably got a trail of ants going into places that they shouldn't.  I don't find their relationship gross, but it is a little convenient that she's taking advantage of his current state to act on their sexual tension.  She's gotta know that he's not gonna stay like this forever, especially not if Pam's got something to say about it.  What happens when he snaps back to normal?  I guess she's saying fuck it to the big picture and getting that dick while the getting's good, and frankly, I can't really blame her.

Devil baby is officially hilarious.  TommySam firing Sookie was HILARIOUS.  She never fucking works!  Alcide is officially boring.  Unless I'm seeing that ass, he serves no purpose.

I must say, Sam's impression of Tommy (as Sam) was pretty dead on.  He has all the cadence of the actor that plays Tommy down.  I thought that was really funny.

Yeah, I did find it odd that Sookie was complaining about bug bites and then just humps Erik in the wilderness.  But then again, Sookie has a thing for bloodsuckers, so maybe mosquitos don't bother her too much, lol.

Oh, and 3nnui, I do like the show simply BECAUSE its become a trashy soap opera.  Just when you think it can't get any more batshit ridiculous, it does, lol.

Simon, there is certainly a place for things that do their own particular brand of trash well. Whether is a silly date movie like Cutting Edge, or the ridiculous goings on of the fast and furious series.

Now that I think about it, this show is the perfect counterpoint to Entourage, which is pure male fantasy. HBO was missing the female show that pandered to the lowest common denominator, since Sex and the City ran it's course.

This is like Dark Shadows on high grade crack and it's pretty fucking great.

+1 on the sex in the mosquito filled woods uncomfortableness, but it still doesn't beat the time when Bill dug himself out of the ground and immediately had sex with Sookie.

I find it pretty creepy that Sookie is having sex with a borderline mentally retarded Eric.

At least she's fucking someone on her intellectual level now.

Careful now, I made the same connection and was ridiculed by an administrator,

They've had the hots for each other pre- and post-amnesia. They're grown adults in a trashy TV show. Why can't they just fuck?

I agree with all of this. Fuck, I love this show. There hasn't been something this gloriously entertaining and trashy in ages. It's like a terrible and hilarious soap opera with lots of nudity and gore and hot men with muscles.

Ha! Thanks for the laugh. He seems more like a little kid to me, but still, creepy.

Honestly, it comes down to the fact that Sookie loathed Eric (and with good cause) before he lost his memory. Why exactly did she suddenly forget that when he lost his memory? Does she think this is some new permanent state, or is she just that damn shallow? Even her best friend in the world called her out on this.

It is far and away not the worst thing this show has done, but I can't lie and say it doesn't bother me when they do this. It just seems like another bit of character breaking in a show that has made a habit of writing characters in bizarre ways.

I really think it was a selfish decision and she just wanted to bang him so bad she couldn't help herself, especially since his new childlike state is fairly nonthreatening and charming.

The thing is, Eric is really really really really hot. I mean, REALLY hot. He's like the male equivalent to Christina Hendricks in terms of sex appeal. And Sookie has been portrayed as a decent person but not a saint, the girl still has needs.

Doesn't change the fact that she's also a fucking idiot 99% of the time.

Werewolf Girl's got it. If you want to argue that it's out of character, so be it. But Pagoda, who admits he does not watch the show, is just saying it's creepy, when we all know this show has done far creepier things.

BINGO.  Morality and ethics go right out the window when you've got a sexy Viking with a dick like Thor's hammer in your basement.

Granted, I do think there's gender bias at work, because if it was a male character who was fucking the hell out of an amnesiac female character, I'd feel icky about it.

From the little we know of Eric's backstory, he totally had it coming. Plus, parading around in jason's sexy workout clothes was really asking for it.

Plus is it even possible for most people's opinions of Sookah to get any lower?

I'm pretty sure nearly every viewer smiled when her ass got fired.

Now this was a really awesome episode I thought.  Enough set up, the Big Bad has arrived and shit's about to get real, lol.

I really like Marny as the evil Witch, and Tara finally has a purpose on the show.  The whole "recruiting the coven" stuff was funny, because the wicans are such a bunch of losers for the most part, and now they've become the biggest threat to vampires in the state.

Bill's decision to silver all the vampires who are staying in Louisiana was an interesting one, since it seems that's a really rough thing to do.  The surviving sheriffs' reaction to his decision was priceless.

The Erik/Sookie stuff was boring, as usual.  The Alcide stuff was boring too, other than the "love quadrangle" that appears to be developing around him, his girl, Sookie, and Erik.  (And if we throw Bill into the mix, does that make it a love pentangle?)  Sam finally kicking Tommy to the curve was overdue, but Sam's story doesn't seem to have much to do with anything right now so I don't find it all that interesting.  Poor Andy and his V addiction can't even let him get through a simple date.  The Jason and Hoyte scene was all right, though I'd almost forgotten Jason was a cop now.  (Really, how does a policeman go missing for as long as Jason was and that doesn't send up alarm bells?  I guess only in a county where the police force is run by an incompetent drug addict?)  LaFayette being a "medium" is interesting.  I liked how he saw that creepy black woman who Demon Baby can see too.  I'll bet he's gonna be instramental to taking down Marnie eventually.

The ending of the show was really well done.  The cliffhanger with Jessica making her way into the sunlight was great.  I'm hoping Jason gets there in time to save her.  Bill's "As your maker, I command you to release me!" bit was really awesome.  I wonder what the fallout of calling all the vampires into the light is going to be?  And poor Pam.  She's got it rough this season.  lol.

Looking forward to the next ep.

They made up for that lame Eric/Sookie sex scene last week.  MORE PLEASE AND THANK YOU!

I have no doubt that Jessica will be fine.

And I have a question that I'm sure has been answered in a past season but I'm too lazy to go back that far for an answer:  when a vamp's maker gives a command, I was under the impression that something in their brain sort of forces them to obey, like being glamored or something.  When Godric used it on Eric on the roof before his death scene, Eric's whole demeanor suddenly changed.  He went from screaming and crying to very peaceful.  Eric used it on Pam to get that blanket off her head last week.  But here Jessica defies the order.  So, is it optional to obey your maker, or was the power of the spell overriding the maker-order?  What, if any, ramifications are there if a vamp disobeys their maker's command?

I'm guessing the spell was more powerful. Although your question about ramifications is interesting. Vampires bleed if they enter a house uninvited. Is the obedience a natural law with consequences or just a custom? We've definitely seen a type of love and respect between maker and... makee. They're not all bad!

So I'm wondering what the chances are that Jessica is really dead. In most instances it seems like the cliffhangers on this show are pretty much standard soap-opera type, "OH MY GOD" moments that are immediately reset within the first two minutes of next week's episode.

However, there was the scene with Jessica talking about how she wasn't sure about her relationship with Hoyt (coupled with his scene saying he'd die if she left him), her scene telling Bill not to be sorry - that she'd experienced more life as a vampire than she ever would have as a human, and I think there was one other scene too where she talked about death or something. If she is dead then they put almost enough in this episode for it to be a satisfying goodbye that still raises the stakes.

Of course last week they hinted that Sam's brother might be dead and, though I made a sacrifice to every known god this week, it was sadly not to be.

I doubt she's dead. They've just started the Jason-Jessica storyline, not to mention he ran all the way there to save her. Which he'll do. Then they'll start falling for each other and there will be a whole lotta tension with Hoyt. (Fuck me for writing that.)

I really hope they dont kill off Jessica...I love her character.

What Joe Lavers said. I'd hate for them to kill another character I love. My sister speculated this'll be when Jason transforms into a cat and make the save.

Jess might die this season, but she's not going to die before she fucks Jason.

Yeah, I swear you guys have never watched TV. They've gone to all the trouble to set up (yet another) love triangle, they're not killing her before paying that off.

Jason will save her, bringing them closer together... cue a violin... cue doe eyes and heaving bosom... cue fucking in the woods... cue remorseful swearing each other off... cue guilty looks... cue fucking in Hoyt's bed.

The only mystery to me is: will they finally get the hottest actress on the show to do nudity? I HAVE TO KNOW!

On a side note, I bid a fond farewell to the most boring lesbian couple in film history. And I look forward to the scene where Sookah and Tara playfully reconcile after Sookah is miffed (miffed! and peeved!) that Tara tried to murder every man she ever loved all at once.

Give me a show about Jesus' grandfather. "I was busy fucking my wife."

Sorry, that's not gonna happen.  Hoyt's mom saw her burn up already.

Jessica's dream was great!  Hoyt doing the "I'll DIE without you" and then her killing him.  Perfect sixteen year old girl dream stuff.

I'm fine.  No drugs for me.  Except for the anti-psychotic.

Last couple of weeks have been pretty good.  Sookie dreaming in red last week was verra nice.

Hadn't thought of that.  You're right.

It's a step up, right?  I can see the Anya giving the "Thanks" to Sookie that  Pam gave.

Marnie is my new favourite sort of surprise villain. That last episode was awesome! I'm curious to see how well Eric will be able to stick to his sensitive guy persona now too.

Haha, it's in the running for sure!

That was a fun episode. I'm ashamed to admit I wasn't expecting the end even though in retrospect it was pretty obvious where that was going.
