Well hasn't this just come out of nowhere.

 

That looks like good fun. Hell the chance to see Owen chew the scenery with impunity as a villain may be worth the price of admission alone.

Statham continues making a career of being on autopilot. De Niro continues to cash a check. Clive Owen continues to try to find a place in Hollywood. I see nothing to love here.

I understand that people love Statham, and I won't criticize his fans, but taking a chance on The Mechanic a few months back, and Transporter 3 two or three years ago (or whenever it was) punctuated my feelings on Statham as an actor. Until he decides to up his game, I can't give him any love.

Possibly sped up De Niro whipping off his jacket all ready to throw down had me in hysterics (here I was thinking it couldn't get any funnier than Tim Blake Nelson as an asskicking martial arts expert on that stupid CBS show)

 

The rest of it just looks like another rote Statham vehicle. Bored with him at this point.

I can't seem to find the exact quote, but an interviewer asked Statham about being typecast and his response was something along the lines of the fact that he is willing to branch out if he likes a project and thinks he is a good fit for the role, but don't expect him to start doing dramas or romantic comedies.  Basically, he's happy as shit that he has managed to find his niche in Hollywood and doesn't want to fuck it up because it allows him to lead the life he has always wanted.  Can't really blame the man.  Besides, most of his movies are entertaining.

Something crazy going on with Clive's left eye. Noticed in full-screen version of trailer. Is it a weird color or cat/snake-eye shaped (contact?)? Or am I seeing things?
