Kal-El's going to have some good genes.

Nice story title. Smilla's Sense of Snow is a terrific film and easily Ormond's best work.

I really like her for the role. The actors are impressive for this so far but I have two concerns.

Zach Snyder after Sucker Punch and Watchmen (not that I am ragging on him) but after two box office disasters will that effect his work here?

The composer. Bring back John Williams!

Well seriously, at the very least I don't see how anyone could take major issue with the casting of this movie. It's gonna be chock-full of name faces.

There isn't a single person in the cast that I'm worried about, it's the guy behind the camera that has me concerned.

I think someone else has already brought this up in another thread, but this cast is starting to feel overstuffed with too many 'names' for roles I assume won't be very prominent.

You know who I really liked in Batman Begins?  Linus Roache as Thomas Wayne.  A small but important role very well-filled by an actor I was unfamiliar with.

This is just starting to look a little desperate.  Just make a good movie!

EDIT: Nice headline for the article, by the way!

Nice call on Roache who was terrific in Begins. Also liked him in Shot Through The Heart.

As far as too many names I think Warner's knows this is a hard sell they need more than the brand for people to buy tickets.

Anything that gives the mind-bogglingly gorgeous Ormond more screen time is okay by me.

To be honest, I've often wondered where she's been for the last decade or more.

(and good to see you round here tommy)

I gotta agree with one of the commenters. Holy MILF central, Batman!

To be fair, they've got a ways to go before they top the Big Name cast of Donner's Superman.

Is that really a problem? It makes sense to cast big names as Superman's folks, since the guy himself is being played by a relative newcomer. Brando played Jor-El in the original and he was barely in it.

Excuse me while I put my nerd glasses on...

Kryptonian women are only known by their father's names until they are married when, like Cher, they are known by just their first name. So, unless the movie starts before Jor-El and Lara are together, it's odd how all these casting announcements are referring to her as Lara Lor-van.

Yet more Superman origin! Whoopee!

He was also terrific on Law & Order.

Chris Meloni in talks to be in Man of Steel...yet the story I read didn't mention a part.  I mean that awesome potential casting would be Lex Luthor.  Shave Meloni bald and he has the look, and I know he has the chops, him being in Oz and such.   Though he could be Perry White as well.  Or just no one big in the Superman world.  It is potential casting that I actually find interesting for once in this movie.

He'll probably play Cop #2 but he'd make a kickass Metallo.

I could see Meloni as Luthor for sure.
