Hacked in Hotmail 2 weeks after changing PW...WTF

I just changed my password in Hotmail about 2-3 weeks ago (and according to Hotmail, it was a more powerful password than the prior one), and then I got hacked this morning.  Fantastic.  Changed the password again this morning.  Argh.

check your pc for any key loggers or spy ware?

Hotmail is my throwaway account (thankfully) that I use for logins on websites, resume' stuff, etc.  Unfortunately a lot of friends in the ol' address book, but on the plus side, lots of pain in the ass consulting companies that don't understand that I'm off the market but still send me job postings got hit as well.

 

The only places I check my e-mail are at home and at work, and my work laptop is literally shut down to any outside interference.  I've got anti-spyware/anti-virus running on the home PC, but my son has been using it lately, mainly for Minecraft, so I'm wondering if he picked up something there.  I know Lulzsec did a DDOS on one of the servers a little while back, so who knows.  I'll try blowing through a scan again tonight.  As I said, just aggravating because I just changed my password.

I still use an old hotmail account for the same thing, just a throwaway address for when sites I don't care about or trust require an email address.

 

Except I deleted all my friends from the address book so that if it gets hacked they don't get bugged. It'd still be a little aggravating if it got hacked, but at least I'm the only one who has to be aggravated by it.

That's probably what I need to do.  Go through and remove all my friends from my address book, and I won't worry too much.  Strangely enough, someone else just sent me an e-mail from their Hotmail account and said they got hacked.  Wondering if we'll hear some MS news in the near future about them getting hacked in general.

I had to set up a hotmail (well, "live.com") account to sync Outlook with my new WP7 phone (it was only a penny, and is actually quite nice). That's all I did with the email account  (haven't sent anything, haven't posted it anywhere) , and in the space of about three days, I  have, let's see... 118 spam messages.
