Great review as always Alex. 

 

I have to say I really enjoyed this (it aired on tv here about two months ago), and while it didn't give me the list to track down that Not Quite Hollywood did, it did at least make me want to snafu a few of Pam Griers early women in prison and blaxploitation films. She was so much better than everything else around her in the clips they showed.

 

I also loved that they touched on Apocolypse Now, but only in as much to help demonstrate how bad things could be in the Philippines when film projects went wrong in the wider context of what Corman was also doing over there.

 

All in all, a fascinating colourful little doco.

Thanks! To be honest, I already own a few of those films (The Big... ones) and enjoy them for the crap they are. Pam Grier certainly made them far more memorable than they would have been otherwise.
