Indy 4 was indeed a bag of shit, so it's not like he's smearing shit on the Mona Lisa.  Having said that, was it really necessary for him to say this?  No.

No offense guys, but why is this news on CHUD? Harrison Ford made a mildly disparaging remark about Labeouf, followed by some asslicking. Seems more like stuff we'd see in the gossip forum.

What Shia said about Indy4 is what he would be contractually obligated to say if they were in the middle of promoting Indy5.  It's what they're doing with Transformers 3!  Shia's timing is just off.  Heehehe

I'm a little confused. He said this after the movie came out right? At that point, I feel like you're not really doing anyone a disservice by admitting that it totally blew. It's not like he's torpedoing the box office or anything. I think we would applaud most artists for being critical of their work and striving to improve it, not sure why acting should be any different.

It's about not biting the hand that feeds. Spielberg gave Labeouf a career. I mean, who really thought that this guy would be in summer blockbusters?

Again, the quality of the movie is so not the point...

It's not being considerate. When you trash a film that you were involved with, you are trashing the other people who collaborated with you, who worked to make you look better. You have to be real careful when you do the types of films that LeBeouf does - that being, terrible movies made by very talented people.

Yes he was...the whole point of his comments was "I fucked up". The Internet Hate for this guy is unreal...almost as bad as the hate for Megan Fox. Must be a Transformers Curse..

The Details piece didn't quote it that way, but eh...whatever.  Fact of the matter is, he bashed the film and those associated, namely Spielberg.  Even though him and Spielberg are "close", it still doesn't change things much.

For all his "honesty", he sure has a tendency to go back on it. He's also bashing Wall Street 2 saying Oliver Stone dropped the ball as well yet when it came out "I'm so proud of this movie and my contribution to it.”

Less than a week ago he admitted in an interview that he had a "sexual encounter" with Megan Fox..  it was so obvious in the article that he was simply trying to flex his nuts.

Say what you will about his acting chops(I like him but think he needs to change it up ASAP), but the kid sounds like a total douche.  

I still hope he claims to have sexed Rosie Huntington Whitley. Solely for the beating he'll receive.

Suppose it's an agree to disagree thing. It's just odd to me because this is the only medium I can think of where people seem to support this sort of "close ranks and smile" mentality. The closest analogy I can think of is video-games (solely from a large team perspective), and you hear industry professionals on podcasts all the time talking about what went right and wrong with their previous work. I know it's entirely possible that the sound guy and the make-up artist and catering did kick-ass work on the movie, but at the end of the day the film is what it is. Again, I understand not screwing the movie when it's in theaters, but reflective criticism doesn't seem like an inherently bad thing, although here it seems to be offered in a douchey manner.

Your last sentence sums it up. It's not the content, it's the tone.

Problem is this is now the third time he's gone out and bad-mouthed his previous movie...while he's on the promotional circuit for this latest one. The first time he did it (for Indy 4) I thought he was an idiot (considering the guy responsible for said movie has been your #1 supporter, single-handedly put you in all these big tentpoles and also happens to be the most powerful person in showbiz) but still new to the whole thing and being sincere.

But he's done it two more times since (against Transformers 2 and Wall Street 2) and you lose the sense of any sincerity from the guy. Just that as Ford said, he's a fucking idiot.
